Good Luck to him.

I think he's gonna be a damn beast. Hope he lands in a good place/situation and represents the Garnet & Black well in the future.

Why do y'all bash our good players? Comparing Mike and Shaq and saying you are relieved he wont be here might be the dumbest thing you have ever posted and that is saying something.

If he gets 73 yards in the bowl game he'll be at 1,000 for the season. He should also finish with more receiving yards than last year. Before the season many saw him as the 2nd best back in the conference and a darkhorse for the heisman. I can understand some disappointment given the expectations but he still had a good year. When was the last time we had a guy go over 1,000 yards two seasons in a row? We thought our Oline would be elite and would provide some good lanes for Davis but they underperformed and playcalling was terrible. He could've gone for 250+ against Kentucky if we had kept it on the ground.
He did have a fumbling problem but other than that there was more to his numbers being down from last year than "he took himself out of games" and "was upset about less carries" etc.
edit- This isn't unexpected news and the comments about rats jumping ship are just ignorant/trolling. I'm looking forward to the Wilds and Williams tandem next year and think we won't miss too much of a beat.
Davis will bring his A+ game tomorrow to show out for the scouts and I won't be surprised if he outshines Duke Johnson, much like he did Gurley last year in Athens.

No reason to rip him and say you're glad he is gone though. Of course he could've played better. Everyone could.

Cockrocket - amen. Yeah he was up and down at times, but when he was on he played all out. Good luck to him.... I think he has the tools to be a great player at the next level.

If there is one place we will be solid next year, it's hb, we have Brandon Wilds shon carson(meh) and David Williams(talented but unproven) as well as 2 freshmen that could challenge for pt.

When he wanted to play he was great. When he didn't want to play he had an "injury" and played like shite.
Too up and down for me and he wasn't a great leader or team guy. Looking forward to Wilds and Williams next year

See how that works? It never leads to good things when you do that.
Homophobe much?? lulz. I'll stand by my statement. Just look at this thread.
Even when a coot gives Davis a compliment, there's a dig embedded on the backside.

Hate to say it but you are right. Its ridiculous. I mean of all the players they are bashing Mike Davis.. Yeah he comes off the field at times... It because he is fricking hurt. He runs physical, that's what happens.

Davis has all the ability to excel, but doesn't. His physical style is going to give him nicks and bruises, but it's the same style he ran with last year when he was averaging nearly a yard per carry more. It's not all that ridiculous to question his heart... a little telling that those three GIFs earlier in this thread are all from last season...

Questioning heart and saying you are relieved be won't be back next year are 2 different things. Sorry but Wilds isn't close to the back Davis is.

Davis this year isn't close to the Davis you seem to have in your head from last year. Sorry you can't see that. I would take Wilds over Davis every time and be happy about it. But I think next year is going to be DW's coming out party, so it's all good...

LOL. Wilds probably missed just as much time hurt as Davis did.. Our OL underachieved massively. You think Dimarco Murray is just a different guy this year, or he is killing it because he has an awesome OL?? Just don't see the need to bash our first RB with back to back 1000 yard seasons since George Rogers.
ETA: its also a little easier to gain rushing yards on the zone read when Connor Shaw is a threat, compared to Dylan Thompson. Comparing last year to this year with a different OL and QB is asinine, especially when we were always losing and throwing the ball all over the yard. There are a lot of things different from last year to this year. MD28 was the least of our problems.

Right... This O Line returned all but one starter. Wilds YPC went from 5.1 to 5.6 and Carson's went from 4.2 to 7.3... only Davis' went south. And not having Shaw to steal carries should mean that he would have a lot more chances to carry the ball, but he's actually behind his numbers from last year as well. And before you anoint Davis to greatness for having back to back 1000 yard seasons, shouldn't he actually get the last 73 yards he needs to reach that mark? Something he hasn't done in the last four games... One of those against South Alabama...

I liked Davis two years ago, but he seemed to put on some bad weight in the off season and didnt perform as well. Not sure he will make a team in the NFL...maybe a scout team Rb imo

Play calling didn't help him either. I didn't see us call the power play he ran so well last season a single time this year.
