It is being reported that it's not life threatening and he will remain with the university in some capacity.
This type of announcement doesn't come up all of a sudden. I will be curious to see the level of pre-meditation.
They let Charlie Strong get out of Dodge, act totally bewildered at Gonzales' lateral move and claim he was disappointed in not being promoted, then come to the startling realization that Meyer can't continue?
Time will tell, but this is orchestrated, and we shall soon see the plan play out. If this is not the case, then your assertion that Meyer is not a selfish person is definitely called into question.

A Gator fan just posted that Urban will be making an announcement tomorrow from New Orleans. Supposedly this is much worse than a heart defect.

I just want to understand why he made the announcement now? There are X number of Gator seniors that have had a second to none run at fl that are going to be completely overshadowed by their coach. The timming is screwed.

It is pretty bad timing. I'm just thinking it might be something life threatening if he had to announce this now. I hope I'm completely wrong though.

I think a lot of people want to start a prayer thread for Urban. Maybe we should sticky one if possible instead of thousands of separate threads.

UF announced Meyer will stay with the program in some way and a coach will be hired within the week. The rumor is Foley has contacted Will Muschamp.

I agree. I suspect it has taken this much time to run tests, etc... whatever it is, it has to be weighing heavily on him, and it can't be an easy time for him.

Tell me GP, if his life is not in danger, why did he choose to have all the attention focused on him and taken away from the seniors at fl that many of whom will never be in the spotlight again?
He could have waited a week for this announcement in order to let his players get their due.
