This story is a national news story because of Matt Leinart’s opinion. That’s why this thread started. The fact that you need to comment on a thread you don’t agree with says it all.

Well, BigNastyRetard, you’re on record as stating you believe defense and special teams don’t matter when discussing “the greatest team ever,” which is perhaps the most mind numbingly stupid thing I’ve ever read.
So, there’s that.
Leinart, who is on record as having never watched game film, posted this nonsense to his personal Twitter feed. It got so little interaction from fans that he posted it a second time 2 days later. It is not a “national news story.”
I’m not sure why I would have expected you to click on a fricking link before sharing your opinion about the information contained in the link. That was dumb of me.

When did I say defense and special teams don’t matter? You’re dumb arse opinions make you seem more lost than our president. Just stop talking, learn football, then come back and speak with adults.

Right here, BigNastyRetard:

Stop acting like CNN and taking things out of context. My point was, LSU as EXCEPTIONAL in offense, decent on defense until the end of the year (when they were full strength & beat the shite out of the best teams in the nation), and had great special teams which also won awards.
Like I said. You’re lost. Stop talking about things you know nothing about.

Stop avoiding these facts, sissy boy.
2019 LSU defense:
Total Defense - 25
Scoring Defense - 26th
3rd Down Conversions - 34th
4th Down Conversions - 70th
First Downs - 54th
Passing D - 38th
Rush D - 34th
Red Zone - 83rd
Tackles for Loss - 53rd
Sacks - 34th
You can run, but you can’t hide. The truth doesn’t change.

….. and the Best Team in CFB History. You’re the one denying facts dumbass.

Its ok Alabama sidewalks! I hate LSU too but the facts are that their 2019 team with a goofy coonass as their coach was the greatest team ever. And for context for those saying they only beat AU by 3 that year. That AU team was really good and went 9-3 but just had true freshman QB and gus bus offense. Bunch of NFL dudes on that team and played a 4-1-6 defense that game. Almost every other team on the schedule tried to run that against them and got torched. I have never seen a team that was so talented that other ranked teams had to create new defenses for them in the middle of the season.

Thank you for verifying the facts

Those are called opinions. Then again, this is the same guy who referred to a tweet from Matt Leinart as a “national news story.”

1. Statistics are facts my ignorant friend.
2. Matt’s story was on a Global Sports News Channel called ESPN.
Yet again, your comments are ignorant with NO facts to back up anything.

Link? TIA.
I find that rather unlikely, given he works for Fox Sports, and the link in the OP is his tweet. Are you just making stuff up now?

My comments have been nearly 100% directed at LSU’s defensive statistical rankings for 2019, which you refuse to address.

You do realize that ESPN has 2020 Bama > 2019 LSU, right?

LSU '19 and Alabama '20 belong in the top 5. The 1972 USC team was better than their 2004 squad. Miami '01 and Texas '05 would round out my top 5.

& LSU would have scored at will against them as well. Dumbass
Undefeated 95 Gators also led by a Heisman winning QB averaged over 500 yards, 45 ppg and were held to 24 points, half their yardage, QB sacked 7 times and held to negative rushing yards by the Husker D.
Again, TEAM is the key word here.

It’s tough to compare eras but Burrow/Jefferson/Chase are immensely more talented than Weurfel/Doering/Hilliard ever were.

That LSU defense was LOADED with talent. Look at the draft picks on it.
