Stoops’ biggest wins by opponents end of year ranking (current ranking for this year):
#7 Florida in 2018
#15 Ole Miss in 2024
#17 Penn St in 2018
#20 Mississippi St in 2022
#21 Louisville in 2016
#23 Iowa in 2021
In 12 seasons…
He’s 1-21 against Top 10 opponents
He’s 5-15 against Top 11-25 opponents
He’s 61-37 against unranked opponents
Stoops has managed to keep Kentucky fans satisfied by winning 5 games per seasons against unranked opponents and then hoping for one win against a decent team to get them bowl eligible.
This strategy worked well for him when they played BY FAR the easiest schedule in the league from 2013-2023. But now that divisions are gone, it’s going to be more difficult for Stoops to keep the charade up.
From 2013-2023, Kentucky averaged playing 3.36 ranked opponents per season.
In 2024, Kentucky played 5 ranked opponents hence their 4-8 record overall. Kentucky didn’t take a step back this season… Kentucky just played the type of schedule many in the league have been playing all along.
Their advantage has ended, and people will finally realize Stoops is really just a mediocre coach.

Kentucky fans want him gone because we don't want to miss out on Sumrall, but our AD hamstrung us with a huge buyout so we are stuck with him.

People laugh at Stoops complaining about NIL but he is telling the truth. It takes money to compete now. Does UK have it?

His first 2-3 years he was building the program and lost 24 games. So those first years really make it look worse than it actually is.
He’s 65-49 year 4 to now
His first three years he went 12-24
His last three years he's gone 18-20
The middle 6 he went 47-29.
It somewhat made sense to pay him what they did in 2022. He was less than a year removed from a 10-win season where he finished in the top 15 and some big jobs were opening up. But he's sitting 14th in the SEC right now in recruiting and just finished 4-8. I don't really know where he goes from here without landing a gold mine in the portal

Yes this season sucked but he gets paid what he does cause he's done well compared to our past
pretty much this. may be time for a change for both sides, but the dude's tenure has been really good.

Stoops has done the best over an 8 year period that anyone can realistically hope for. Kentucky isn’t winning 9-10 games every year.
The ups come with the downs in that job.

Conversely, Beamer’s derping in the LSU and Bama games will be what keeps them out

We have slidden for 3 years now. Losing our best recruits, going to lose our DC soon, so he's starting over, which is 3 years at least.
Yep. Missouri just flipped 4* RB Marquise Davis from UK.

I sorta know the feeling. OSU has a $20 million roster(alleged) and ten-cent coaching.

If Ryan Day would stop dying his beard, you guys would stop losing to Michigan.
Someone has to tell him. Please.
