Newton and it's not even close. He single handedly carried his team to the NC. His RB's were meh , his WR's were meh , and AU's defense was garbage.

Auburn had Dyer who was a 5-star RB. He broke Bo's freshman rushing record for Auburn (though he wasn't as good as Bo) and ran for almost 1100 yards while being the Offensive Player of the Game in the BCS title game with 140+ yards rushing.

I think he rushed for well over 1,200 yards the following year when Cam was gone. Then drugs and other stuff happened...

I agree. But the answer to the OP is Newton, without question. I love watching Manziel play, as he is one of the most entertaining athletes I've ever seen. Cam was unbelievable though. Anything 3rd and 6 or less and you could just go ahead and move the chains. He had to have come close to a record for third down conversions by a single player that year.

A&M actually had some talent on last year's team on both the offensive and defensive lines (with a few high draft picks)and yet couldn't do enough to get it done. While Auburn's offensive line was one of the team's biggest strengths, A&M's was arguably better. It's not like they were dropped into the SEC with bad players or anything.

The combination of Newton and Fairley was really special, though.

Has any non-Aggy said JFF? I will go with Cam as well. Don't like him, but we couldn't stop him, like we could JFF

You know statistically, Manziel is the greatest third down player ever, right? Passing and throwing on third down, no one comes close.

A lot of use of "rookie" stats in here but no freshman stat comparisons. Go figure.

The rush defense was pretty solid with a good defensive front and great LBs. I understand what you're saying though, the secondary was horrendous most of the year.

This just in: The Carolina Panthers coaching staff will be gone before Cam Newton. He isn't the issue with the team. The real issue is overpaying running backs that can't stay healthy or produce, refusing to bring in any weapons on offense (especially at wide receiver), refusing to address the secondary where they already sucked before having tons of injuries, and not having the balls as a coaching staff to make tough play calls at the end of games.

In 3 years, this is what the Panthers have drafted in the first 4 rounds of the NFL draft to add to what was the worst offense in the NFL in 2010: Cam Newton, two developmental OGs from Div 2 programs, and WR Joe Adams (who they recently cut).

This is the offense that Newton has set records with.

And because the Carolina DEFENSE constantly and consistently gives up game-winning and game-ending drives to the opposing team, retards like nc14 blame it on Newton.

This weekend, the Panthers had a 20-17 lead with 1:30 left in the game with a 4th and 1 on the Buffalo 21 yd line. Buffalo had no remaining timeouts. Make a 1st down, win the game.

What does Ron Rivera do, knowing he has a 6-5 250 lb QB that odds favor getting that 1 yd? He kicks the field goal, handing the game over to a defense whose secondary had already lost 3 starters in the game.

What does the defense do? Allows Buffalo to march 80 yds in 90 seconds for the game-winning TD.

This same scenario has played out time and again over the last 3 years... offense gives defense the lead... the defense takes a giant shite on it.

I don't know who's a bigger retard... Ron Rivera or nc14.

Andrew Luck beat Newtons rookie record by almost 300 yards.

This is true. But Luck attempted 110 more passes in his rookie season than Newton did in his rookie season. And Luck completed only 54% of his passes in his rookie season compared to 60% for Newton.

Most people who rag on Newton in the NFL don't watch the Panthers play tbh.

He has been in a horrible situation. They will have a massive coaching overhaul after this season flops and maybe then they can get back on the right track.
