Middle Tennessee Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz met with Mississippi State Head Coach Dan Mullen today in Starkville and was interviewed for the bulldogs vacant DC job. Diaz visited the campus and athletic facilities and at the end of his visit he was officially offered the job. According to insider information, he accepted the job, and it will be announced tomorrow. Diaz's Blue Raider Defense was 2nd in the nation in Tackles for Loss and 6th in Sacks. He is the son of the current Miami, Fla Mayor Manny Diaz.

Defense looked pretty good in the New Orleans Bowl against Southern Miss.

I think he is a great hire. He is young (35) has connections all throughout Florida, is energetic and likes to blitz.

If he's better than Torbush we will make a bowl next year. Our offense is in tact, Relf is underrated and I think Favre will step up and show some favre-magic if he doesn't get red shirted. Who will take over for Dixon though?

It's cool. He'll move on to a better job before he becomes too much of a bother.

And at 5'8 165lbs Dylan Farve will be killed by any DT in the SEC.

Relf rushed for over 500 yards this past season and hardly ever played.

Tyler Russell will be the starting QB next year.

Favre will not see the field!

And? He played in every game. And over 20% of those 500 yards came in the Egg Bowl.

No he didn't. He got suspended midseason for possession of marijuana on a state university campus less than 28 grams, misdemeanor.

My bad. I dont follow Moo St. that much. Nice to see that Mullen is a strict disciplinarian like Meyers.

He was red shirted. He's 6'5 210 with a rocket arm. He's kind of a poor boy's Ryan Mallet. How do we fit that into Mullen's offense?

Russell seems like a terrible fit for Mullen's offense THIS past year. However, if the kid is that talented, Mullen will build a scheme that he will succeed in. Good coaches do that.
