Sucks if we lose recruits, but this needs to be Gus' team...not Trooper's. I'm okay with it. Question now is who do the gumps accuse of being dirty? Are we back to accusing Chette?

I taught his son how to clean their pool when they were in Stillwater. I like the guy.

When I showed up I was wearing an Auburn sweatshirt that a Aubie friend sent me when I was looking at transferring down there.

He came out in his Auburn gear, I said what's up War Eagle and everytime he was there when I came to work we'd talk football and Gus, the SEC, etc. I took care of the pool while they had the house on the market. His wife is super nice and the guy is non-stop on the recruiting.

I sold my pool biz, but I'd take care of his pool for free if he came to Arkansas.

Sorta blows a hole in the Kirby BS about not being able to fire assistants also.

RoundTable on Jox was talking about this today. They said the stopper wasn't the hiring and firing of the staff, it was coaching in the BCSCG and the disclosure.

It's common to let the assistants go and then rehire the ones you want. Voids the current contract.

Strong move by Gus, I didn't think he had it in him to be honest. This will hurt in the short term but it absolutely needed to be done. Malzahn is smart enough to know that any success at AU starts with a culture change, I'd take that as a good sign if I'm an AU fan. I think Malzahn will prove to be a better hire than Bielema.

Trooper Taylor is going to be like the Pied Piper, leading all of the kids away from Auburn.

I talked to Coach 'Troop' earlier today and I told him I hope they keep you and I'm going to play with him. I'm still committed to Auburn though."

Here is the quote. It is not definitive either way.

Which is exactly why gumps hate him and want him gone so bad.

I hope the new OC retains him personally.

Kids,

More emotion than real thought. I suspect he will stick and realize that there was no guarantee that Troop would have been there even if Chiz had not been fired.

Good luck

Seems there is a loop hole that allows the fired assistant to interview with the new coordinators when the are hired

He is a good dude IMO. And genuine. I think that is why kids gravitate to him.

Our opinions differ. I have heard him talk about his family and growing up though. Therefore, I think he is a good dude.
