Don't know anything about Carolina's quaterback coach or offensive coordinator. He was a great college talent so we will see. I just hope now that a top team takes Mallett.
It isnt just that, its the whole situation. They wanted a guy to step in immediately. I dont think cam's that guy, and i think it will set his career back. They just dont have the talent for a rookie to step in and do well.

You've also got to wonder how much of an impact ticket sales had to do with Cam Newtons draft? The exciting, charismatic (hold those opinions) scrambling QB coming off a national championship. I'd love to know what the panthers marketing dept. had to contribute to this selection.
Just from a fan standpoint, who would you rather pay cash to go see start this season?

its possible, but i would think (and im definitely no draft expert, to say the least) that the long term health of your program is more important than generating ticket sales. I mean, I could ALMOST see jacksonville doing it for tebow, but im not sure people in north carolina will flock to see newton the way people in florida would for tebow.

Jon Gruden alluded to ticket sales and a re-energized fanbase as reasons to pick Cam Newton.

Mallett really does have issues
/thread.
Many of my fellow arky fans are oblivious to this for some reason.
The NFL dudes research this shite for a living. They aren't too far off in their analysis.

I am not real attached to Mallett, but I really didn't get the whole dragging his name through the mud. Its a shame.
Nobody can explain the "character issues".
I don't get that. Petrino runs a tight ship and kids who do frick up get their asses handed to them.
I guess the take away here for kids is "talk white".

He should have stayed in school for another year. He grew leaps and bounds on the field between last season and this year. He would have been even better next year and eventually skill will silence the other off field issues he has.
Just look at Cam, he has red flags galore, but he is the hottest name in football right now and rode that to the #1 pick.

They aren't expected to talk white.

Because all of these guys are white?
I'm stoked, just proves how much Mallett sucks, this means that Arkansas will be better without him as he can't be the key to our success while not be good enough to go high in the draft by carrying a shitty team on his back to uncharted territory. (See: Cam Newton)

That makes zero sense. The guy that lost three games last year and who is going in the 2nd round isnt as good as the unproven commodity taking over? Where is the logic here again?

Tyler Wilson didn't lose those games Ryan Mallett did and last I checked he is still hoping to be drafted.
It is addition by subtraction.
