That's funny. That's all before 21-0 and it's all been downhill from there.

Still been pulling in skill guys just never had a QB.

Hell we had a WR drafted and stick around the league for years with zero catches his senior year. James Wright

When LSU started falling off is when we started missing in the trenches.

That's why alot of people don't care about recruiting rankings. Recruiting rankings are one's opinion.

They are not the final say by any means. They are more accurate than you give them credit for across the board though.

Higher ranked guys turn out to be better individual players a higher percentage of the time than their lower ranked counterparts

There are thousands of 3 Star college players right now compared to a little over 100 5 stars. Of course more 3s will enter and play in the league. The 5s have an incredibly higher success rate though. Around 50% for LSU, probably similar nationally

Our top 2 draft prospects (1st round) this April were top 100 high school players. Our 3 first rounders last year were too, even went in the order they were ranked

Top 5 rounds LSU 2016 NFL Draft

Name_______Pick_____247 composite
Fournette_____4______1
Adams_______6______32
White________27_____46
Pocic________58_____57
Riley ________75_____539
Beckwith_____107____74
Godchaux____178____146

Outside of Riley, you’ll definitely have successful 3 stars, I’d say recruiting services were damn impressive. 5 of the 6 draftees were in order of composite rank, even within ~30 spots of overall rank.

Perfect, hell no. Malachi was a 5 Star that went 7th round. But god damn that’s a better idea of player potential than you’d have had a prayer of getting 20 years ago

The more top 100 type guys you sign the more talented your team will be, no two ways about it imo. A lot more goes into winning, but talent always makes it easier.

I would be jealous, but 5* WRs and Auburn don’t mesh well.

Duke Williams (kicked off)
Deangelo Benton (bust)
Trovon Reed (bust at WR)
Kyle Davis (not a 5* but kicked off)

All from Louisiana, too, except Kyle Davis...

Take that as a sign lol, stay out. Greg Robinson turned out solid for y’all though. OL don’t grow on trees like skill guys here, that one hurt
