Let's ask the Mountaineers how much that stat means.

Our average starting field position last night was like the 48 yard line. We've averaged 40 ppg, so I'm not worried about yards.
We're putting up over 10 more points on average...against a tougher schedule...than last year's 11-2 team did at this point.
Last year, LSU scored 30, 27, 29, 20 in their first four games. This year the Tigers have scored 40, 49, 19, and 47 in their first four.

You can post whatever stats that make you feel more comfortable about playing LSU. Bottom line is we will settle it on the field.

LSU gave up 533 yards to WVU?
WVU also had 533 yds vs. NORFOLK State
WVU had 291 yards vs. Marshall
WVU had 480 yds. vs. Maryland
How many of those teams beat them by 26 points? We knew they were going to throw the ball all over the field. They have no running game, they were down the second half, and Dana Holgerson is their Coach. If you are implying that Bama is going to throw for 400 yards good luck. I hope like hell McCarron has 65 pass attempts because that means LSU has stopped the run and it means ya'll will lose.

Yards is a very misleading stat. Not only does points actually mean something to winning but in our case we've started with more short fields than probably anyone in the country.
You're not going to gain a lot of yards when you get a special teams TD, an interception returned to the 1, two drives starting at your own 42, two at your own 45 and two more at the 50 all in the same game.
LSU is 18th in the country in scoring offense at 38.75 points per game. LSU can score with anyone.

Our O was 112th or some such suck last year. How did that work out for you? Keep focusing on the stats. You will at least win the fantasy football game.

Gee, I just said I was surprised that LSU was that low...as well as pretty much all of the SEC teams.
Why are you Tigers so sensitive this morning?

In our past 5 games, we've scored 40+ four times
Do turnovers, punting avg, special teams, oh yeah and points scored not factor into the equation, or is yardage the only thing that matters?

The fact that Penn St is #8 in defense shows how misleading stats are, particularly this early in the season.

Indiana State, Eastern Michigan and Temple have a lot to do with that

3 out of our first 4 games have been against ranked teams. Havent had the cupcakes to pile stats up against yet so not a bad number
Let's don't get carried away here. Auburn was ranked at the start of the season and I think we can all agree they'll be lucky to win 6 games.
Mississippi State is another "ranked" team that had no business being ranked. Their 26-20 overtime thriller to Louisiana Tech bears this out.

Man, LSU fans are gonna have a field day if UF upsets Bama next week
To be completely honest, I really do not give a shite. I didn't watch the Bama-Ark game because it made no difference to me. I am completely confident that LSU has the best team in the SEC, and this year's SOS means that anything beyond the current game means nothing in the grand scheme of things for LSU.
UF can enjoy beating up on weak East opponents for a while, and Bama can keep scanning the stats each Sunday, but I absolutely LOVE the way that LSU is overshadowing everyone else this early in the season.
