LSU wins, Pig offense is what our D is designed for. All blitzes in play, immobile QB. Mullet head gets picked two or three times.

dear sweet baby thanksgiving jesus, please let lsu blitz early and often.

you guys will get toasted in the flats by DJ, Knile, and Wingo.

why do you think teams stopped blitzing us so much? because mallett finally figured out how to dump the ball off when he was about to get Fairleyed.

I think they do. Yates and McElroy both had decent games against LSU. I know two of Yates's TDs came late but I don't think that really matters.

I think a lot of the LSU fans arguing that their D is so great vs pro-style offenses are kind of reaching... it's not like they've faced very many good pro-style offenses, and in the games they did (Alabama and UNC), they gave up an average of 22.5 points. Neither Alabama nor UNC have offenses as good as ours.

That's doesn't mean that LSU won't do well against our offense, but I don't think it's very clear that LSU is great against good pro-style offenses.

not really.

it is hard to put up with the sense of entitlement that the traditional powers have in the SEC. we obviously aren't a traditional power, but it gets real old when the lsu/bama types act like they will dominate just because of who they are. things are changing in the league.

if you actually look at this game from a non-homer point of view, it is very, very close.

maybe Alabama fans, but LSU fans don't have a sense of entitlement. we just look at the facts when it comes to comparing programs. and looking at the recent (and historic for that matter) accomplishments of LSU versus those of Arkansas.. the reality is LSU is pretty far ahead of the Hogs.

well don't they? i recall Alabama beating Arky in your own house.

wrong. State, USCe, Old Miss, Arky are flashes in the pan. Bama, LSU and Florida aren't going anywhere.

oh i agree. I don't believe LSU or Arky can win this game by double digit numbers. but as far as Arkansas blowing out LSU (as many Hog fans seem to think they will).. i just don't see it happening.

How about the fact that we haven't lost to a pro-style offense all year? How does that fact grab ya?

Childs being out will hurt a lot.

It hasn't hurt yet, at least in terms of production.

really?

don't think we missed him much against South Carolina or State...we have plenty of receivers

you're talking about QB/WR university here

Yes it has. Arkansas was averaging closer to 400 yards passing per game before Childs was hurt.

Now they average closer to 300. That is a 100 yard per game hit.

I am basing this on the South Carolina and Miss. State games. I am ignoring the UTEP game because....well....it is UTEP.

You certainly did. Mallett's numbers have dropped almost 100 yards per game.

That is huge.

You guys have one top flight QB and now you're "QB U?" Give me a break.

Same goes for the receivers. Childs is a beast. The rest are just pretty good, made better by Mallett.

wrong!

we have developed a running game and aren't so dependent on the pass any more

haven't heard of Knile Davis? you'll know him well Saturday

Knile Davis' numbers have increased.

This proves my point actually. Without Childs you are not even trying to pass it as much. It has clearly affected your passing production.

Fortunately for Arkansas, Davis has been able to step in and supply the missing yards. I'm not sure he can do that against LSU's run D.

This was discussed at length in this thread last night. With the exception of Auburn and Ole Miss, both of whom run spread offenses with mobile QBs....NO team has been able to run on us very effectively.

Arkansas won't, either.

South Carolina had the best run D in the league too.

Arkansas has not faced a defense this complete all year long.

South Carolina has the worst pass defense in the league.

Alabama has the worst pass rush in the league.

Mississippi State is around the middle to lower half in rush, pass, and sacks by defense.

LSU is at or near the top in pretty much every defensive stat there is.
