The moment Ed O was elevated to HC LSU ceased to be an elite program. I'm not an LSU fan so I'm glad they hired the cajun fool.

LSU has been and will be an elite program.... They challenge yearly for the West (yes Alabama is better) but LSU is in the thick of it.
LSU has had two rough years but they are a consistent 10 win team and Top 10-15 team in the country over the last 5 seasons.
The recruiting has been top notch and as long as it stays I'm not sure LSU will ever fall off.

LSU is still a great program.
Elite is somewhat subjective. Do you mean teams in top four consistently every year?
LSU is still in the conversation almost every year. Not that many teams can say that.
They lost to the best team in this country this year, and did an amazing job on defense in that game.
They lost their first game to the team that played in the Big championship. And they played in probably the most friendly venue Wisconsin could have ever hoped for.
But go ahead and count them out, just do not be surprised when that bites you in the arse.
