LSU used to play non conf home and homes - did with Texas, Houston, Long Beach, etc over the years. Once the NCAA changed the start date and teams would not come here unless LSU agreed to return date LSU shifted its scheduling philosophy. When you build a $30 m stadium you want to play in it and sell 10,000 tickets rather than going on the road.
LSU will play 2015 Minute Maid Park Classic in 2015.
LSU payed the price for that scheduling philosophy when the missed NCAA tourney back in 2011. They've since determined that if they can't earn a spot through SEC play playing in regional is not deserved.
Hogs still won't win in Omaha - will find away to choke again!
