If you just need a place to crash day before there will be plenty of rooms available. West side of river on HWY 1, down toward to Gonzalez, in town, over to Denham Springs. Won't be that difficult. Try to get out to campus by 10 and enjoy walking around, tailgaiting (you'll get invited if your wearing A&M gear....don't mind the Tiger Bait! calls), be sure to see Mike if he is out.

Check hotels downtown and on College Dr./I-10. There are tons of hotels along both I-10 and I-12 and there is no way they're all sold out. When it comes to situations like this, people often forget that the Baton Rouge area has over 800,000 people.
As for game day, arrive in the morning and get the full experience. That far into the semester, your daughter will have a good idea of what she'll want you to see and do. You'll get tiger baited but if you can handle that and other harmless jeers then you'll be fine. Prepare to eat and drink. A lot.

IRL lsu fans are exponentially better than the rantards you'll encounter here. They tailgate the way the good Lord intended. Last year we had a bartender with big fake tits at the tailgate tent. By 2:00 we were all shite faced and walked around campus partying with strangers. Lsu women love visiting fans btw
