Well last year Miami destroyed Notre Dame and LSU lost to Notre Dame, so Miami is the favorite for good reason. I know they aren't the exact same teams but a lot of LSU fans are acting like Miami is Boston College or something.

I remember the entire 2016 offseason, LSU fans were pumped about Les’ promise of a new and improved offense, turning ‘Lambeaux’ into a purple and yellow home stadium, challenging for titles, etc.

And then Fornette runs off left tackle for a one yard gain on the first play from scrimmage. Laughed my arse off that afternoon.

That had to be much worse than what could happen with a loss to Miami. The expectations are a bit lower while 0 is running things.

Never bought that, but we had like 15 returning starters coming back, including 3 soon to be first round picks. We also added Aranda and were getting Bama at home. Figured we'd at least beat Wisconsin like 24-10 and make a very good bowl at the absolute least.

The Lambeau trip was amazing though.

I’m sure that was a fun trip. A bucket list stadium, for sure.

Did you laugh even harder when Brandon Harris threw a pick right in the chest of the defender when we were in field goal range?

Nah, I was pretty tired of laughing when that happened.

Just about everything that could go wrong for LSU that day, did.

And as we all know, transitive property is a very reliable metric. Especially across seasons!

I would think Yes. Not 1 LSU fan I know thought they would lose to the Badgers. I mean you had L7F on the team and I do not think LSU even scored 20 points.

Hell no... Are you serious? Miami has real athletes and speed.

That 2016 LSU team had Leonard Fournette, Tre White, Darius Guice, Jamal Adams, Kendall Beckwith, Arden Key, DJ Chark, Devin White, Malachi Dupre, Duke Riley, Travin Dural, and Davon Godchaux, Losing to Jimmy Chitwood and Hickory, Indiana ("Wisconsin") was inexcusable.

That summed Les Miles' up in a heartbeat. I hate O, but Miles sucked arse as a coach. That game was just another example of how bad of a coach he was.

I didn’t think they’d lose to Wisconsin either. That team was mired in an unstable head coaching situation. There are teams with tons of talent that lose games because of mind set. It has nothing to do with talent or even coaching. Do you really think LSU didn’t have the players to overpower Wisconsin or Miami for that matter?

So we don't have one of our great RBs on our roster and we're not as highly ranked before the season, yet a loss to Miami would be worse than Wisconsin?

I believe Miami is ranked higher than Wisconsin was then. So, it really depends in how the game plays out. If we get our asses kicked, that would suck. But I don’t think that will happen. I don’t think we’re going to blow them out, but I think we’ll beat them. Either way, opening up the year against a top 10 opponent is pretty tough.

he was a very good coach for a very long time but he was incapable of adapting to the changing game & honestly believed he could not only run a Bo Schembechler offensive philosophy in the mid 2010's but that he didn't need to bother to even try to be unpredictable anymore because we were going to line up and beat you and there's nothing you can do about it bc we have LF7/Guice.

If you rewind back to 2007 or even 2010 he still had a knack for figuring out the exact right moment to zig when the opponent thought he was going to zag. The reverse on the winning drive in the 2010 Bama game is an overlooked but perfect example of this.

As things started getting tough for him on offense post Mett/OBJ/Landry, and the problem became more than just developing a QB but being stacked literally everywhere else, he retreated even farther into the past than he did after the 2008 pick six fiasco.

The main difference between Les Miles and Nick Saban is that Saban, when confronted with difficulty, looks to adapt for the present/future rather than retreating to the past. That's why Les Miles isn't still the coach at LSU today.
