LSU fans... Why the Lack of Penetration ?

I know everyone in Baton Rouge is excited about you guys returning all 4 starters along the defensive front but I see that only 18.4 % of opponents' rush attempts last season resulted in no gain or a loss of yardage... Only 2 SEC teams were worse... That should be pretty concerning... Does this mostly just show how terrible Kevin Steele's scheme was or are there legitimate talent concerns outside of Neal and Godchaux ? Appreciate the feedback

They'll blame Steele to make themselves feel better. About all they can do.

He's definitely ready and will play from day 1.

We hoping the 3-4 gets more of those tweener guys in space. For as good as chavis was at times, I feel like he didn't recruit that well at LB outside of beckwith and Alexander. And he started beckwith off at DE.
But one thing ab Steele was we got more sacks, and debo showed out at lb and couldnt get pt under chavis. Same with Lewis Neal.
But we ranked 12th in the sec in pass d. That's where the defense struggled.

I think it was the cumulative result of Chavis/Brick more than Steele's scheme necessarily... However, I am ELATED that all 3 are gone and anticipate good things this season on D!

Don't you hate it when you want to make a penetration joke but everyone else has already done it?
If you wouldn't mind, could you start a new thread, something like "LSU fans...Why Aren't Y'all Going Deep?", and email me to let me know ahead of time?
