Not a good look if you’re trying to be a leader. But this is no real surprise to Ole Miss fans. Off-shore fishing trips and stalking ex’s were always a higher priority than actually running a program.

The spin y'all have put on his tenure since his departure is too funny. Nothing but gloating about how good he was until he didn't want to be in Oxford anymore.

so? he's not the coach of the 2025 team. he didn't need to be at that game, at all. but glad you liked seeing him there

I didn’t watch. Don’t flatter yourself.

Don’t get me wrong….its far from the sky is falling….but it’s also far from “well he’s not the coach of the 2025 team”. Literally no one is talking about him actively coaching the team. But he IS the coach of the team and therefore the leader.

I understand LSU fans’ issue with nuance and details. It isn’t your fault. It’s the fault of an evolutionary hiccup.

ok. You can continue to try to convince yourself that Lane was a problem for the Ole Miss program and that Golding was the glue that kept the program together. No one will believe you, but if that's what gets you through the day, you do you.

But maybe you're right. Lane became the most successful coach in modern Ole Miss history by being lazy and taking fishing trips.

LSU would have been better off if he had not shown up. But Lane’s ego couldn’t allow that.

now that your new recruiting coordinator is not coaching our team, he IS the coach now, and moving forward. he had zero to do with LSU or the game or the game plan. you ladies are an emotional bunch these days.

Not sure if you’re too stupid to understand or too stubborn to understand.

Real talk. Do you understand the military concept of a change of command? If you do then you will know my thoughts on him leaving during the course of the game.

what point were you actually trying to convey with this statement?

That he's such a good coach he can frick off, barely try, and turn around a perennial doormat program and take them places they haven't been in 70 years? Damn, imagine if he tried.

Lowkey bothered me on behalf of LSU only because of the optics. Look bro, you made this entire hiring drama about you. You are aware everyone is watching. You can’t coach your former team right now, you literally can afford to stay til the end, you should probably stick around for the team and to keep media from spinning it. You can say it’s not a big deal, but this is a sample of the Lane-isms that over time can snowball into more and more weird choices.

Why would it? Honest question. Lots of these aren’t the kids that will be on team next year

Yes. We definitely imagine what not losing to UF, LSU, and Kentucky last year would have looked like.

Him leaving early bothered Ole Miss fans more than any LSU fan, that team on the field had a HC so what did he need to stay for, just something else for salty Ole Miss fans to talk about, move on and enjoy ur CFP run rebs

A month ago, Ole Miss fans were absolutely begging him to sign an extension that would've made him the highest paid coach in the country.

Hooer chasers gonna chase hooers ... but when you marry one, you've got a real self-inflicted problem on your hands.

It never ends well.
