Let’s not forget that for the quarter century between the Bear and Saban, Bama wasn’t much more than an above average program.
- 9 Ten win seasons
- 14 Top 25 finishes
- 12 Top 15 finishes
- 7 Top 10 finishes
- 3 Top 5 finishes
- 3 SEC Titles
- 1 National Title
We finished ranked in the Top 15 in 50% of the seasons during our bad 24 year period.
That's all you need to know about us.

Mike Archer....Curly Hallman.....Gerry Dinardo
Three of the worst coaches in LSU history
And we still won more SEC Championships than Bama did in that 24 year period.

LOL, Nick Saban won 2 of them.
Again - take a look at the all around numbers that Alabama put up in that era. They'd be good to great eras for 95% of CFB programs.
The only extended miserable period we've had was 1997-2006, when we were on deep scholarship restricting probation 2 times. We're going to be really good, probably elite for at least 5-7 years after Saban leaves. You know that, we know that, everyone knows that.

Yep. It’s not fun losing him as your coach. We know it but have still fared prettty well. Bama will lose him some day too and find that out.

It’s not like we’ve beaten them many times in our history. Kinda used to it. Just need to the best we can with that one loss.

It won't be fun, but like LSU did I'm guessing we'll keep the machine running pretty well for a while even if the replacement is good but not great.
But it will never be the same again. Some necks are in for a rude awakening.

We're 6 outs away from being 44-4 and 1st place in the SEC in softball.

Saban won’t be there in 4 years, anyway. I think you know that.

And?

And it’s hard to replace him. Enjoy him while he’s there- and still is what he’s been.
All legends eventually wither. Ask your older relatives how it felt when The Bear lost his magic. You can certainly make the argument there’s never been anyone like Saban. That’s a valid argument. But it happens to them all.
There’s only one undisputed, undefeated champion. Coach Time wins over all. So like I said, enjoy him while he is who he is.

Oh yea, no doubt. I just think some folks want him gone so badly they seem to have convinced themselves he's gonna leave and it's the Mike Shula era again. Even after they watched Les Miles inherit what he did and keep it churning.
Saban is 1 in a lifetime, but with Byrne doing the hiring and everything the program has in place I feel pretty good that we'll keep being a pretty good program.

He’s had an influence on the conference like no other I can recall. I almost pity the one who follows him. That’s a nearly impossible act to follow. He’s like Patton. LOL

I totally agree - I have no idea why anybody would do that to themselves.

How many times will Alabama lose to Clemson before try to hire someone to beat Dabo?
Asked for a friend.

About the same amount of national championships you claim to have
