Spurrier never stopped LSU from wearing white at home, but he once chose to have Florida wear white at home vs LSU just for the heck of it. I think LSU wore gold at Florida and won that game.

Yes, Vandy was upset that they hadn't been paid compensation for Dinardo so they wouldn't let us wear white at home.
Here's LSU vs State in 2009:

Agreed. They look good. Wish y'all would wear them more.

I love the purple jerseys.
But a lot of my fellow LSU fans associate purple unis with a time when we weren't very good and therefore don't like them. Can't blame them for that, I guess.
I'd like to see us wear them more in SEC play. But if we're playing Bama, UF or a similarly big game, we need to be in white. I'd shite my pants if LSU went into the SEC title game wearing purple, and not in a good way.

I will always prefer the white jerseys, in part because I think they look better, in part because they are so much a part of the LSU tradition and mystique dating back to the 1950s and the 1958 national championship team.
The purple jerseys for many years were generally regarded as bad luck (even before the NCAA required home teams to wear dark jersey's at home). The purple was rarely every seen before the rule change requiring dark at home. That superstition has largely gone away since LSU has won virtually all of the games when they have won purple since the 2000s.

Some of you people have reading comprehension problems.
Meaning LSU, on the road, being forced to wear their purple jerseys.

That was when people thought DiNardo could actually coach.
dinardo is the guy who woke the sleeping giant. his run in the beggining was huge.
signing faulk and keeping a major player and athlete in the state was huge.
and there was a lot of young, stockpiled talent there for nick when he got there in 2000.

Definately like the white jerseys, just mho, but when it comes to purple and gold, less is more.
Also like that its unique; defines LSU vs. everyone else.

They wore gold, but didn't win the game. Spurrier only lost to LSU once in 1997.
