Oh look, a bunch of LSU fans having a melt down over a judgement call made during a game. Death, taxes, and upset LSU fans are all we count on when we wake up every morning.

You guys do realize I didn’t make the call right?

I said I can see why they made the call, not that I agreed with it.

Such an emotionally fragile group.

You sound just as nutty as Old Sarge when he was desperately praying that Scottie was going to the big house.

I’m an Arkansas fan pulling for UNC and still think it was a shite call.

Jay Johnson himself just said during the game that the explanation was that the base runner didn’t slide on a direct line with the bag. I guess Jay Johnson sounds nutty too.

You guys do not deal with adversity very well.

I simply said that I could see why they called it, because the base runner had to reach out to touch the base and his feet completely missed the bag. By the rules, that is an out even if it isn’t always called.

You realize this isn’t the first time the call has ever been made right?

College World Series Game Ending Interference Call

If you will watch the video in the link it is a good explanation of the rule.

This is a weird way to say that bama fans don't care about college baseball.

Please show me in the rule book where it says you need to slide into the center of the bag.

Here you go.

Force Play Slide Rule NCAA 8-4

quote:

a. On any force play, the runner must slide on the ground before the base and in a direct line between the two bases. It is permissible for the slider’s momentum to carry him through the base in the baseline extended (see diagram).

Here is a good video explanation..

You should take that up with the umpires and review crew. They saw it differently.

They are talking about it now and just replayed it for you.

I’m aware what they called, but I also have eyes and saw the replay.

They also said it was a bad call, like pretty much everyone else.

Except you.

Actually the only people that matter saw it that way. The umpires called him out. What I think doesn’t matter. What you think doesn’t matter. What the commentators think doesn’t matter.

Despite LSU fans loving baseball so much, why do you all not have a better grasp of the rules?

No one said what we think will matter as far as the call on the field. This entire message board doesn’t matter yet here we are all discussing things.

Bud, give it up. We all know the rule. We, and the guys calling the game, think the rule was improperly applied. It happens. Umpires are not infallible.

Just because a person in authority makes a decision, doesn't mean it's correct.

It was a bad call, anyone who understands the rules can see that and a lot of people can agree that it was a bad call.

You can't, and that's fine.

I can see why they called it. A late slide straight at the second baseman to the side of the bag. But I can’t see LSU fans complaining about a call or the umpires. They would never do such a thing.

What a fricking douchebag you are.
