If LSU only had one loss, Auburn still would have gotten the invite.

Uh,no. Had LSU beaten Miami, 9-2 LSU would have gone over 10-1 Auburn. But Miami won 116-3 and brought their mascot to the game.

I guess you don't realize the primary purpose of the Sugar Bowl and other bowls. It is to drive tourism for the local economy.

Do you really think the LSU fan base would spend even half the amount of money that any other out of state fan base would?

Do you really think the majority of the LSU fan base would spend even one, forget three or four nights in New Orleans when they can easily commute to and from the game that same day?

If you are not able to understand basic economics, then I can't help you.

Auburn had just been the year before. The fact LSU beat Auburn head to head put pressure on the Sugar Bowl committee that year. They all but said if LSU beat Miami they would pick LSU.

Not sure why you can't understand that?

Uh, common sense.

You must not know how this bowl selection thing works.

One of my buddies' uncle was on the committee that year and said otherwise. While they did catch grief from LSU fans, they were NEVER going to pick LSU over Auburn unless LSU had a better record.

Not sure why you can't understand that.
