What they did to South Alabama is inexcusable.
The NIT is in a death spiral. I hope this hastens it.
I hope whoever offered South Alabama the invitation has lost their job. And I hope whoever rescinded their offer has also lost their job. And I hope their boss has lost their job too.

Up until the 1950s, NIT was more prestigious.
Even up to the 1970s it was a really big deal.
Of course until the late 1970s or early 1980s, the NCAA only took one team per league.
