They pay certain fees each semester that are, in part, dispersed to different organizations. The fee each student pays to fund the center is negligible (miniscule stuff).
TAMU is a major university. It's time to set aside this archaic disapproval of homosexuality. I sent the student president a personal letter of thanks. What a terrible stain that bill would have left on TAMU.
But from a broader standpoint, we can't have students opting-out of part of their tuition just because its use incidentally conflicts with their religion. Terrible precedent.

Do you hold identical viewpoints to the tens of thousands of people who have attended LSU? Didn't David Duke, for example, matriculate from LSU? You sure seem to paint with a broad brush.
