I don't give a frick about Texas. Hopefully this will make it so that if we ever do play them it will be an early season game. I want LSU on TDay weekend.

The whole desire is to stick it to Texas. They don't care about anything else. Think of who you are dealing with here.

Actually, Aggies care about a lot of other things but this does hurt our primary recruiting rival. A&M goes up against Texas in recruiting in a big way and Texas has tried to sell their TDay game as a reason to go there. For A&M to play a bigger TDay game helps A&M while hurting Texas and thus helps our recruiting.

We realize the Piggies are mad we took their TDay weekend game, DWI. As for LSU, frick you and maybe this makes you hate us a little more which is better for a rivalry anyway.

My opinion on this, and especially the fervor behind it, is not shared by everyone there. There may not be much outcry.

well we certainly don't dislike you for any on-field reasons so i guess if they are going to develop this rivalry it will have to be with little things like this

Umkay. Scheduling the LSU game on Thanksgiving when given the choice has nothing at all to do with Texas.

We're all buying that one.

this is a blow to Arkansas though which is always nice. That game meant an awful lot to them. Now they finish the season with Missou or something instead and they are on equal footing as Mississippi State on our schedule which is where they should be.

Actually it means I'll be much more likely to attend the LSU game. Which I think is a good thing for me, since I hate your asses.

Its the one SEC game I have gone to the least over the years due to the date and previously, the location, which was always partly justified by "the students being out of town".

I think it would be kinda funny if we shipped the Mizzou game to Little Rock.

that's you though.

from a program perspective it's a blow to Arkansas. You no longer have that marquee game to finish your season.

Well, you do have a point. I don't know anybody who truly gives a shite about playing Mizzou.

We've been in the same conference with them for exactly the same amount of time as LSU has.

LSU fans-

The majority of you wouldn't make the road trip to CS anyway. Do you really think you won't like having a game you care about TG night to watch? What else would you be doing during that time, watching an NFL game you don't care about, or the Egg Bowl?

Or UT-TCU?

Again, for the handful of fans that would have 100% gone if this were on Friday but will not go since its on TG Night, tough luck. For the other 99.9% of LSU fans, how is a 1PM game on TV on Friday better than a Thanksgiving Night game on TV?

It hurts Texas and helps A&M to have the game on TDay but that's not a Daddy issue. It's just a reality of recruiting in Texas. Texas is the one that has promoted the TDay game as their game and even got the B12 to go along with allowing them to always play at home. For A&M to play a bigger game on the same day minimizes them and helps us in recruiting.

More than that though, Aggies like to play football on Thanksgiving. That's what we have done or tried to do for a very long time. Having a TDay tailgate of turkey and watching the Cowboy game is just what we do.

Nobody gives a frick what you're buying, a-hole. The decision's been made without any input from you.

Fact is we have years and years of gameday and holiday traditions built around playing on Thanksgiving. For me, it's an excuse to not have spend the full holiday sitting around the house with family, and I'll take any excuse I can get.

That's great. Should have done it with someone else then. Our AD really is spineless.

That's fine. I've no issue with your traditions. Just force them on someone else.

Its all about Texas. In fact, your posters first few responses were about how much it would piss off Texas.

I won't go to TexAgs, but tell me they're not high fiving each other about how much playing on T-Day pisses off Texas.

You do realize Texas also plays on Thanksgiving now, right? In spite of the fact they no longer play us.

...yeahhhhh

PS: Enjoy Mizzou
