The Malzhan smoke and mirrors act appears to have been figured out. I think it might be pretty safe to say that now.
Every offense is figured out it is a matter of execution on the offense and the defense's ability to stop it. The problem is it appears Gus doesn't trust Todd enough to throw the ball right now I'm not sure why, we run the ball nearly 80% of the time on first downs so yes we have tendencies but the other counter problem is Todd is not hitting receivers well to spread the defense out.

I think it's Crowton. The play calls just don't make any sense. They're playing a team who can't defend the pass, has an undersized DL and literally zero depth at linebacker. It makes no sense to go away from the pass and start running option plays with Shep at running back.

t's interesting to watch a season absolutely implode like this.
Everything is working like a charm, then suddenly it all falls apart before your eyes.
I know how you feel. It sucks.

Our defense cannot, and will not stop the run. Whether they are out of position or just simply miss tackles, our main weakness is that if you run up the middle; it's 4+ easy yards.

Call Crowton and tell him. Cause despite you knowing this, and probably every AU fan and opponent, we don't seem to. Scott gets 1 carry up the middle per drive, and that's it.

The option is stupid and the analysis is spot on. Run right at us and we are undersized and probably in trouble. Run sideways and we are small and fast and will make the play.

I'm not watching the game, but I heard Coleman is hurt?
If so, that's just the icing on the shite cake my friends.

I don't know why Auburn* is conceding the game already.
If you guys score here it's anyone's game.
*Auburn as in the fans on this board.

That was Todd's fault for throwing a floater across the middle and nearly getting Blake killed.

LSU needs to score here before half to put it away.

Didn't see the holding. Saw them holding the guy down after he fell forward. Might have missed it I guess.
Damn refs helping AU out!

It was pretty obvious. Your center tackled our tackle rushing up the middle.

Well, LSU's offense still sucks when they don't get 3 personal fouls from the defense every drive

K I missed it then. I saw the flag come out as they were shoving him down, which I see all the time after a lineman falls.
Well, at least JJ stepped into the pocket. He still takes 20 seconds to uncork the ball on a deep pass.
eta: ^^^ It's not the personal fouls, it's when we don't call stupid fricking plays that the offense doesn't know how to run. That middle screen to Scott had no chance of working cause he had no position to start running right away.

The OL is awful, but JJ's awareness is absolutely pitiful.
He literally stepped right into that sack.

I guess what I was really trying to say is that all the motion and misdirection doesn't seem to be bothering teams as much as it was early in the year. Getting the defense confused is part of the proper execution of Malzhan's offense.

Could we possibly frick up any more?
