LMFAO. You do realize that the CWS TV ratings get bent over and fricked in the arse by WOMEN's Final Four TV ratings right?
And I honestly didn't expect LSU people to be claiming their sports department was now the best all time in the SEC because of 6 baseball NCs.
You have historically the 4th best program in the biggest sport, the 3rd or 4th best in the second biggest, and the best program in the 4th biggest sport. Not sure if that makes you guys tops all time.
And UF is tops this decade.
For college baseball getting to the CWS is the same as getting to the final four. You didn't get my point. I completely understand that men's basketball is more popular than college baseball.
Only a Tennessee fan would actually think women's college basketball is good on the whole. I do not deny that there are programs like Tennessee's that are good, but the sport in general sucks. I have met women's college basketball players and I personally am not overly impressed. Do I think their are some good players? yes. Do I think that there are a shite ton of good ones like other sports? no. If women's basketball was so good the WNBA would be bigger than it is. The sport is heavily supported by ESPN and the NCAA so as to create a women's sport product.
I didn't think anyone was calling LSU the best all-time. I think it was more the decade. LSU is easily comparable to UF this decade when you factor in baseball.

Well, our national championships in swimming usually get placed on the tape delay "small stage," but, every four years, our swimmer get placed on an even bigger stage than yours as they win Olympic and world championships as individuals and teams. Just sayin'.

LSU also sends Bennie Brazell, Trindon Hollidy, and Xavier Carter to the olympic trials and olympics. Those are some that played football as well as track. The LSU track team is top notch also. Auburn is kick arse in swimming

LSU is definitely number two, i'm just saying that you can't compare the CWS to the final four as equals unless your going to count all sports the same.
Not trying to rain on yalls parade or anything. LSU earned it tonight.

Thanks...AU has begun to compete well on the national and world stage in track and field as well.

LSU:
Football- 2 NCs, BCS Bowls(4-0), 3 SEC titles
Basketball- 1 Final Four, 3 SEC titles
Baseball- 2 NCs, 5 CWS, 2 SEC titles
Florida:
Football- 2 NC, BCS Bowls(3-1), 3 SEC titles
Basketball- 2 NCs, 3 Final Fours, 3 SEC titles
Baseball- 1 CWS, 1 SEC title
We have 1 more BCS win(also 1 more top 10 finish), 1 more SEC title, and 4 more CWS appearances. Florida has 2 more final fours.
I would say that has to be pretty damn even(this doesn't even take into effect LSU had Brady for most of the decade).

Gator fan here. No offense to LSU, but what sets Florida athletics apart from almost every other athletic program in the nation is that we are competitive in almost every sport.
In the last 10 years, the following athletic programs have made at least the national championship game. Several have won it all.
Football (3 NCs)
Basketball (2 NCs, 1 runner-up)
Baseball (2005 runner-up)
Women's Soccer (1998 NC)
Men's Golf (2001 NC)
Softball (2008 runner-up)
Volleyball (7 Final Fours, 2003 runner-up)
Gymnastics (Four straight top 4 finishes, 1998 runner-up)
Men's Tennis (2000 and 2003 runner-up)
Women's Tennis (1998, 2003 NCs)
You won't find many other programs competing for national championships in as many sports.

This Decade
LSU:
Football- 2 NCs
Baseball- 2 NCs
Men's Track & Field- 3 NCs
Women's Track & Field- 6 NCs
Men's Basketball- 1 Final Four
Women's Basketball- 5 Final Fours
Softball- 2 CWS
Gymnastics- 2 Super Six Appearances
That is eight sports and they are all bigger than golf, volleyball, tennis, and women's soccer.
LSU has 13 NCs this decade and Florida has 6 NCs. Florida might win another football NC this coming year, but they definitely haven't won 3 NCs in 10 years. I think it is also more relevant to talk about this decade since it is coming to a close.
So I would definitely make the case we are tops if you want to talk outside football, men's basketball, and baseball. Florida's only argument is making it a 2 sport argument of football and men's basketball.
Also I would put Florida and LSU as the top 2 programs nationally with their NCs in the big sports.

Florida is 1a and lsu is 1b. I think florida is a little better top-to-bottom but it's very very close. The thing that puts them over lsu is the fact that basketball is much bigger nationally than baseball. That's pretty much it.

I agree that they are the top 2 and have no problem with it being a tie. I did list 8 sports and he listed 10. The problem is that 5 of those sports would be ranked below the 8 I listed in terms of how big the sport is. This would not be even a discussion if basketball was not so popular(even though it is mainly just march madness).
College Baseball and Basketball are actually very similar as most of the superstar talents typically forgo long college careers to play in the pros.

I think you, by accident, typed LSU when you meant to type Auburn.
You should fix this problem soon to reduce confusion.
