I would say LSU and Florida are at least equals. I am personally highly impressed by the back-to-back basketball championship; however, LSU has been far superior in baseball than UF.
LSU has also been to the final four and won 3 SEC titles in basketball. So they really have been a relatively decent program despite having a shitty coach most of the decade.
The CWS is similar to in prestige to the final four and LSU has 5 CWS appearances and UF has 3 final fours.

Nothing that any Ole Piss fan could say or do could possibly dampen our celebration on this night or any other.Its only right that we should be able to brag a bit, or maybe a lot. But its OK.....I understand.....a lot of LSU oldtimers, like myself, and some of the more recent newbies, would say the same about Ole Piss....I for one would NEVER pull for the webels in any sport. ETA:No SEC loyalty for me where Ole Piss is concerned.

Believe me, if baseball got as much love as the other major sports, most of the SEC would be bowing to LSU right now. If not publicly, for sure, privately.

To me Baseball is obviously the third biggest sport by a wide margin. The only reason women's basketball gets so much tv time is because it is the only women's spot they think they can market. The fact is women's basketball is completely dominated by a few teams and that alone makes it not worth watching. The other huge reason is some inter-mural men's college teams could wipe the floor with most of the actual women's college teams.
I am not a huge baseball fan, but if ESPN marketed it I think it would be way bigger than it is.

I have been an LSU fan since the 80s. I suffered through the archer/hallman years. I ain't no bandwagoner.
If you actually paid attention to my post, I said MSU fans are fine by me.
I just will never understand the blind, irrational hatred that Ole Miss fans have for LSU. For that, I will always enjoy rubbing our victories in their faces; while they spend history wallowing in their own proverbial filth.

I like female sports to a good degree, but, major college baseball suffers, in large part, due to the fact that it only permits 11.7 scholarships, while a univ. has 20-plus women on full rowing scholarships, etc. The trick is finding smart baseball players with academic or other scholarships or from well-to-do families. If the universities were permitted to put more into its baseball programs, ESPN would probably follow suit.

And I honestly didn't expect LSU people to be claiming their sports department was now the best all time in the SEC because of 6 baseball NCs.
You have historically the 4th best program in the biggest sport, the 3rd or 4th best in the second biggest, and the best program in the 4th biggest sport. Not sure if that makes you guys tops all time.
And UF is tops this decade.

LSU and Florida are the class of SEC. The other ten make us better but ride our coattails. What other programs have won national titles on the big stage?
