That has NEVER been the case dude. It starts with SEC record (overall) compared to others in your division and then works its way down from there. Bama would still go.
So wait a minute. LSU has to play UF and USCe while Bama gets to beat up on UT and Mizzou and they actually use those games to determine which team in the West is better?

Championship teams aren't determined by division record?
No, and never have been ever.
And still not sure if this is a joke..

It's been awhile since a team has come out of the West with a loss.

It's almost like College Football makes up these rules as they go....

I really hope not. I don't like the idea of outsiders having an influence in our conference process. Fortunately the BCS ranking part of the tiebreaker has never been used.

yes it has, in 2003. UGA/UF/UT all finished with 2 conference losses and all the tiebreakers were even. If memory serves, the old rulebook had the very last tiebreaker as a vote by league presidents, but the SEC realized that would be a shitstorm so ammended the rules to have the last and final tiebreaker use the BCS standings. The last place BCS team (in that case, UF) is thrown out, then having a head to head between the other 2. UGA beat UT that year so we won the east. It was crazy, because we essentially had to beat Georgia tech to win the east lol.
There is also some other provision, like if all 3 teams are within a certain number of spots of each other, it just goes to the highest ranked.

It would never happen but I guess that's the only thing that would make the guy I was quoting happy...............until Bama won the west by being ranked higher then he would come up with some other shite
I thought I remembered having it come down to the BCS between UT/UF/UGA before but couldn't remember when

USC went 5-0 versus the SEC East last year.....UGA went 4-1 vs East opponents, including a loss to us...

How so? LSU would have two conference losses and Bama only one.
