Good win for you guys, maybe you are a lot better than you thought this season.
I wish I would've watched the game, but I was busy watching Aldon Smith destroy the Steelers.

Hopefully LSU and BAMA win out leading up to Jan. 11th. That would be an exciting game to watch!

Marquette went uncharacteristly ice cold in the first half. I mean they went like 8 minutes without a field goal.

You already know the reason why: "I like how well our defense is playing". LSU has done this consistently now. It's plain that this is a defensive-oriented team.

Trent's game-plan for the season is to play great defense and shoot free throws. What was impressive to me was that LSU won despite accomplishing only half of that. And down a man to boot.

This, and the fact that Marquette was up 13-0 in the first 3 minutes of the game. Hell if LSU knocks down half of the free throws they missed, we win by double digits. Not to mention we out rebounded them 35-32. This was no fluke.

Playing good defense is one thing but a team going 8 minutes without a bucket is a tad lucky as well.

Ok, for the sake of argument I will allow that Marquette had a little bad luck. But I think LSU's defense had more to do with that than you're apparently willing to give them credit for.

The big test will be against Virginia. If LSU can win in a similar fashion against the Wahoos, I think even the doubters will come around and start believing.

Or it could be that I'm not that big a believer in luck.

You're right. But this was a deserved LSU victory. We won all the hustle plays, played sound defense, and took good shots. Can't ask for much more against an undefeated top 10 team.

I think we'll have a better idea of what this team is like after the Virginia game. I believe the Wahoos are even better than Marquette. Certainly deeper.

That game will be low scoring, that's for sure.
