You just cant get a grip of how asinine it was to report 44K for the Vandy game unless you have a visual so here you go.

I'm blaming Cheese Grits just as much as the Louisville fans at this point. Just drop it already and hopefully they'll go away.

Louisville is a decent athletic program and would be a decent add in terms of athletic prowess. Because Kentucky is already a member, Louisville adds nothing to the TV footprint.

No need to get into "flagship" nonsense. UK is already a charter member. Don't need Louisville.

UK has been in the Top 25 in attendance in the USA for years. Last year was the year of the Joker and was a outlier. You do know what an outlier is right? Since you brought up the point :

40. Louisville 49,991 - 55,386 (Kentucky) - UK was only game Cards played at capacity
41. Kentucky 49,691 - 54,553 (Georgia)

Without UK on the UL schedule UK would have actually placed higher than the Cards so you can thank UK fans for the lead. The bigger point is UK went 2-10 and still averaged 49,691 while the Cards went 10-2 and only managed 49,991. Again a terrible UK team can still draw better than a great Card team.

quote:

Cheese Grits...what the he!! dude Attendance doesn't = championships dude. If it did, Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio State and Penn State would be the only ones winning national titles.

Again, you are comparing Apples to Oranges

Apples
Attendance = fans in the stands = TV demand
All 4 of the teams you mention have stadiums over 100K (or about DOUBLE) the size of the Pizza Pit

Oranges
Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Penn State all have multiple MNC's and the Cards still do not have (1) so you are incorrect yet again.
All 4 of the schools you named are light years ahead of Louisville

Look it another way, here are the Top 10 in attendance last year followed by their MNC's (BCS MNC's in BOLD)
1. Michigan 112,252 = 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1918, 1923, 1932, 1933, 1947, 1948, 1997
2. Ohio State 105,330 = 1942, 1954, 1957, 1961, 1968, 1970, 2002
3. Alabama 101,722 = 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1941, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, 1992, 2009, 2011, 2012
4. Texas 100,884 = 1963, 1969, 1970, 2005
5. Penn State 96,730 = 1982, 1986
6. Georgia 92,703 = 1927, 1942, 1946, 1968, 1980
7. LSU 92,626 = 1958, 2003, 2007
8. Tennessee 89,965 = 1938, 1940, 1950, 1951, 1967, 1998
9. USC 87,845 = 1928, 1931, 1932, 1939, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1974, 1978, 2003 (2004 was vacated)
10. Florida 87,597 = 1996, 2006, 2008
Every team in the Top 10 has at least (2) MNC's

.
.
.
.

40. Louisville 49,991 = NONE, ZIP, ZERO, NADA

Tell me again how attendance does not matter when you see all those MNC's relative to attendance. Look at how many of those BCS numbers are BOLD. Show me a BCS MNC that won averaging 50K a game during the regular season? I am willing to bet there is not a single one. Keep pumping your 1 good year because it will make your tears so much sweeter when you fall. The Rant has a habit of bookmarking comments like yours to enjoy when you fall back down.

It doesn't matter. Louisville could be the shizznit in everything from baseball to badminton. UK is a charter member. The SEC already has Kentucky TV markets. They're not kicking out a charter member.

Louisville is a bad fit. End of discussion.

It's a football program cripple fight of epic proportions.

At least I know UK is a football cripple. Card fans do not seem to realize they are a football cripple as well. Bama lost that Sugar Bowl to the Utes and went on to win 3 MNC's while the Utes went in the toilet.

I see the same happening to the Cards so you should see that as a good omen to the Gators.

And one last post for you Grits before I get. Here is just another list of projects that are set to begin construction or be finished for 2013..not just for athletics but academics as well. This is a prime example of how fast we are growing. Every facility we have is top of the line. Take note of how many of these projects are from private donations. $344 million in projects. This doesn't even include the football stadium expansion that will happen when we move to the ACC. Incredible how fast this university has come in just 15 years. The sky is the limit.

And as far as Jurich and his dedication to this university. I actually contract work for TJ's best friend whom is a big builder here in Louisville. We did a major portion of work on Jurich's own house. They own a cabin together on Lake Cumberland that this particular builder built. Jurich is not going anywhere. I would bet my life on it. The man absolutely adores the city of Louisville and the people of this great city. There will be a 100 foot bronze statue of Tom Jurich before the man even retires.

Grits apparently you failed to read my link and take a peek at the pretty picture above. No Uk is not top 25 in attendance. Not when you inflate the numbers. They were busted for it. This isnt an opinion of mine...but a FACT. Sorry bout that.

That ACTUAL UK attendance number for last year was 32,915. Where does that rank? Oh ok.

You don't think we know how shitty attendance was last year? We're all aware. It accomplished what the fans wanted it to though. Joker is gone. We have a great start to the Stoops era. Season ticket sales are through the roof. All is well with the world for now.

Plus we've taken several recruits that Charlie Strong wanted, even coming off of our 2-10 season and your Sugar Bowl.

That's fine Catfan, just as long as you admit your fans are just as fair weather as anybody else.

Every fan base has fair weather fans. I don't think any Kentucky fan has said otherwise. We have plenty of fans that are not fair weather as well.

I watched every single game last season, despite my misery during said games.

From what I understand Stoops and your compliance officer aren't getting along too well. It appears you're taking several academic casualties. We'll see how many of these guys end up signing and on campus. Our 2014 class is far from done. I guarantee our class is in the top 8 when all is said and done.

Sandy Bell is focusing on the basketball team.

The guys that have left the team have had academic issues in the past for the most part. There's always some turnover when a new staff is hired.

It's called playing time. Kentucky can offer that. Louisville returns most of it's starters from last years Sugar Bowl championship and to be Juniors to boot.
Louisville also doesn't have many holes to fill with this years class. The following season is when we should see a bump up in recruiting as a result of the Sugar Bowl and possibly another BCS bowl this year.

In your dreams bud. In your dreams. Did the Utes return almost everybody from that team? No? Well Louisville does. You Kentucky fans are just beside yourselves over Louisvilles success. Just be satisfied that the SEC let's you celebrate the winter months and accept the fact that Kentucky football will never achieve what Louisville is doing. Its. Okay.
