Dallas rec: See if you can get dinner over at The Charles down in the design district. Tried it last week and it's damn good.

If not, somewhere in Bishop Arts.

(Apologies if you know Dallas well already.)

What did you get?

Haven't been to Dallas in about 35 years.

Oysters and chard octopus were really good.

Grilled beats really good.

Had a great special pasta dish. The food is "italiana influences" but they don't go heavy on anything including the pastas.

I'm just a big fan of the urban but chill vibe of that part of town.

I've got a chip on my shoulder about visitors coming to Dallas. if you're with a group, just see if you guys can do at least one evening in Bishop Arts (over near oak cliff).

Bunch of little bars, some good restaurants, and if you get a chance, grab a taco at Tacos El Si Hay. (Okay, done with Dallas talk.)

To be fair, most Longhorns that actually follow the team are completely dissociated with BON. That website is so shitty, not original, not funny, and the writers are complete pussies

I'd be getting a pasta for sure.

Main thing I am wanting is to try some Brisket while I'm there. I'm a pork guy when it comes to BBQ, and I've had Brisket in other places(Tommy's Joynt in San Fran has good Brisket), but I've never had Texas Brisket that everyone claims is so good.

Well, not sure of your travel plans, but Austin area (Taylor/Lockhart) is where you want to try for that. In Dallas, there is a Lockhart's in Bishop Arts and a Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum that will do the trick.

In both Deep Ellum and Bishop Arts, you can go there with a mind to get brisket, and then hit bars and taco joints if you're still hungry.

Perfect day for me would be brisket at Lockhart's in Bishop Arts, a cocktail at Bolsa, and then walk across the street for a taco.

I’ve had it all over Texas. Some is very good. But Blue Oak in Mid City does it as well as anyone.

Surprising because my experiences with Texas is that the state is filled with entitled a-holes. It's the one state I absolutely dread having to drive through.

In fact, I leave for Dallas Saturday and have to spend next week there. After my business is done on Friday, I'm straight heading home and not spending any extra days or the weekend there.

Good lord, what a giant pvssy.
