In addition,
• Coached at Ga Tech
• Coached at Florida
• lived and died in Texas

We can agree on that!

Btw this is cool: “Hunting, fishing, whitewater kayaking, mountain biking” I used to guide on the Ocoee, French Broad, and Nanny, and I’ve biked and fished all over the southern Appalachians

Football joking aside, I’ve boated and loved all of those rivers… although I grew up in Texas, I have actually lived in NC now for 30+ years - longer than Texas… great whitewater boating, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, trail running, fishing, hunting in the Appalachian mountains of Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky… glad to hear about your whitewater boating and outdoor adventure history here in the Southern Appalachians…

True confession, I spent 10 years in Texas myself. But after kayaking mostly flatwater and grassflats, while the wing shooting is better and landing bull reds from a hard-bottom is great, I do prefer my home region’s terrain

Listening to him on McAfee show and he doesn't sound so bad. Im not a huge McAfee fan, but he makes people feel more comfortable.

Lots of good things about Texas and most of my extended family is still there. I grew up on the Texas coast with good fishing and hunting, and we had family land to hunt on there…

But I do love the mountains and hills here in NC and surrounding states, which stay green and shady in the summer… with four actual seasons, and feeling cool air starting in September here, instead of November in Texas…
