Baton Rouge - LSU did not commit any additional violations to the ones self-reported from an internal investigation in 2009, according to an NCAA Notice of Allegations received by the school Tuesday.
quote:
The Notice of Allegations agreed with the seven listed violations in LSU's report in 2009: improper phone calls, improper transportation, free lodging with a student worker during an unofficial recruiting visit and discounted housing in a former athlete's apartment provided by McCarthy. A fifth violation involved impermissable phone calls made by non-coaching staff members.
No additional LSU football violations in D.J. McCarthy-Akiem Hicks matter, NCAA tells school

Also, thousands of impermissible phone calls to recruits unrelated to said assistant football coach.

Again, same coach, same recruit. Self-caught, self-reported, self-penalized.
I have never compared LSU to AU on this subject, I was just clarifying your little spin job earlier.

So a coach....that had nothing to do with LSU...told ESPN that a guy...who also had nothing to with LSU or Peterson....told him that a school...which isn't LSU...could get PP for 80 Gs.
And this is affects LSU how?

It may be a while before he is allowed to coach again, and GA needs someone now!

That article just says there weren't any additional violations found, not that there wouldn't be additional punishment other than what was self imposed.

Van Malone is a longhorn alum that was fired by Texas A&M. He has no reason to defend A&M or make them look good. I fully believe him when he says he was offered PP7 for 80K.
I wish he would have taken it. Von Miller and PP7 were the two best defenders in the nation last year. That could have made for a hell of a defense even is ennis Francione was still the coach

If I prove to you that LSU reported several thousand impermissible phone calls by AD staff unrelated to the assistant football coach that resigned, will you ban yourself for 3 months?

You changed your post.
Arkansas football may not have had any games vacated, yet, but your track team is dirty as hell. So I consider Arkansas as much a cheater as the others mentioned.
Is Tennessee and "ho-gate" considered cheaters?

Oh wait, you're trying to make a case based on these?
quote:
A release put out by LSU sports information said the internal investigation determined that the involved staff members did not realize the calls were considered by NCAA legislation to constitute recruiting coordination functions rather than routine clerical tasks and thus constituted impermissible recruiting telephone calls.
The calls were mostly responding to inquiries related to campus visit logistical matters, film receipt, tickets for high school coaches, coaching clinics and other such routine matters.
Nonetheless, after consultation with the SEC and NCAA, LSU concluded that the calls were impermissible under NCAA rules. The release also said corrective measures taken by LSU pertaining to the impermissible phone calls include the development of new job descriptions for non-coaching staff members to reflect adherence to NCAA rules; monthly educational compliance meetings; new procedures for logging and monitoring of telephone calls by all staff members and revised communications to prospective student-athletes to answer questions and direct inquiries to the proper individuals on the LSU staff.
LSU will work with the SEC and NCAA toward a resolution of this matter, and will continue its efforts to monitor and ensure compliance with NCAA and SEC rules and regulations, the release said.
LSU self-imposes recruiting, scholarship restrictions on football program
Good lord man, you will try anything to believe LSU is close to being in the same category as your school.
Those are so minor, and so common, that I didn't even register you were trying to spin that into a major offense.
Wow.

You done backtracking or do I need to keep calling out your spin?
Also, point to one post where I compared AU's history with NCAA infractions to LSU's. You posted a BS spin job and I simply called you on it. You kept spinning and I kept calling you on it.

I would be, given our history, and the NCAA's past treatment of us.

You're missing the whole point. I don't need to spin. this is LSU we're talking about.
We've self-reported three penalties since we began playing football in 1893. None have been major, and the most severe occurred under Nick Saban.
You've been trying, and failing, to cast LSU in the same light as your school.
