Aggy D looked rough yesterday.

Nine players on our defensive two deep were either suspended or injured, including six starters. Three true freshmen started, five players started in their first ever FBS game and we played nine true freshman on defense at some point.

Against La. Tech last year, the equivalent of what is likely a 9-10 win Rice team this year (based on the fact they are expected to win their conference), we gave up 57 points with only three starters out. This year, we gave up 31 with essentially second and third team defenders.

It wasn't pretty, but with some perspective it isn't the end of the world. All 9 players I mentioned are expected back either next week or against Bama.

Even better, hiding under Saban's skirt.

Honest question: How many LSU fans will break something out of sheer blind rage if A&M beats their "true rival" this year?

I'm not sure why any fan would be mad if A&M beat bama. That gives LSU a much better chance of winning the west.

I don't understand it either, and yet a good 20-25% of this board's activity over the past several months has consisted of LSU fans going all rah-rah for Bama and the prospect of them beating A&M. The defining rant argument for a while has been "yeah, just wait until Bama".

If A&M beats Bama, and even worse if Manziel has an awesome game in doing so, recent history can only lead us to believe that there will be a LOT of pissed off LSU fans who didn't get to watch Manziel and little ol A&M get crushed.

What "lesson"? That Bama is better than us? That Manziel really wasn't that good after all?

I'm curious as to exactly which lesson you are expecting us to learn, and moreover why us learning that lesson is so important that you are willing to cast aside your hatred and root for Bama? No A&M fan will be shocked if Bama beats us because they have more talent. However, it seems that EVERYONE will be shocked if the opposite occurs.

I think you are confusing LSU fans predicting bama to beat A&M with LSU fans "going rah rah" for bama. LSU fans are just trying to tell the A&M fans that JFF will be found out and the A&M fans don't want to hear it. Predicting bama to win and being pissed if they lost are two different things.

Your unfounded arrogance when A&M is obviously a "one-man" team. Manziel is A&M, even moreso than Sumlin. He is one of the most dynamic, talented players in a long time- and when he's gone after this year(assuming he makes it through it) you'll go back to being what you really are- A mediocre team where the most dynamic and blustering man on the squad is the the 12th one.

Let's say that misguided opinion is true: How will that particular lesson be learned against Bama? We WILL have Manziel against them.

It seems to me that LSU fans are moving the goalposts and hedging their bets. First, Manziel was going to be suspended and we'd suck THIS year. Then, it was he'll play but you'll lose to Bama, LSU, Ole Miss, etc. Now it seems in the weeks leading up to the game, the hedge has started. Even if we beat Bama, hell even if we go undefeated, well we hope you enjoyed it because you'll go back to sucking next year.

I don't think your lesson will learned from Bama. I'm simply talking about LSU. We were a superior team to you last year(but I'm sure you'll argue that point as well) and we will probably be superior again this year depending upon the cohesion of our defense. You are the one that is hanging your feeling of superiority on Bama's neck.

I don't see why any of the above situations couldn't happen. He could still be suspended as he seems to be smirking in the face of the NCAA. No doubt they'd screw him to the wall if they found any evidence of wrongdoing.

A&M could lose to a number of conference opponents, and A&M likely takes a major step backwards regardless of what happens this year.
