Ole Miss plays Cook, Chubb, Fournette, and Scarborough this year. I'll let you know who the best is

For LF to win the Heisman, he'll have to have big game against Bama......pure & simple.

True.

Only certain schools get benefit of doubt and Bama is definitely one of them. It's a "popularity contest" award more than anything.

Also true.

I'd rather we beat Bama's arse and win a NC.

All LSU fans should feel this way.

You idiots can keep repeating this, but when you look at the facts it just makes you look like a moron. When you look at conference stats only you will find LF is better then Derrick Henry, Todd Girley and Herschel Walker. SEC rushing stats: LF- Att 193 Yds 1114 Avg 5.77 DH- Att 286 Yds 1623 Avg 5.67 TG- Att 154 Yds 884 Avg 5.74 HW- Att 216 Yds 1084 Avg 5.01 *(taken from his record breaking sophmore season in 1981)

You forgot to list nick Chubb. Who is the moron now?!

I'll bet you'd take your boy over Emmitt Smith (5'9), Walter Payton (5'10), Barry Sanders (5'8), Curtis Martin (5'11) and LaDanian Tomlinson (5'10) - The 5 leading rushers in NFL history. Fournette will be a top 5 pick - Not the 45th pick in the 2nd round.

Looks like DH outgained LF.

Oh, outscored him too - 14 TD to 12 TD.

That said, you really want how they did against ranked opponents.

DH - Att 202 / Yds 1049 / Avg 5.19 / 15 TD / 149.86 YPG
LF - Att 101 / Yds 469 / Avg 4.64 / 4 TD / 117.25 YPG

Honestly, when looking at this, LF is less in DH's league and more, say, in Ralph Webb's league.

I know I touched a nerve when you feel the need to respond to 1 post I made four hours ago.

People around here have continued to perpetuate the idea that LF only did well against OOC opponents. I posted facts that listed SEC games only and then you come in and move the goal post again. I'll play along.

I posted these SEC only rushing stats.....
LF- Att 193 Yds 1114 Avg 5.77
DH- Att 286 Yds 1623 Avg 5.67

You replied.....Looks like DH outgained LF.
He sure did. But he had almost 100 more carries in SEC play to get those yards with a lower YPC Avg. Not to mention that Saban shamelessly let him pad his stats in games where bama was leading by 15pts or more......

Carries with leads of 15+:
DH- Att 65 Yds 430 Avg 6.62
LF- Att 19 Yds 195 Avg 10.26

quote:

Oh, outscored him too - 14 TD to 12 TD.

100 more carries. Wow. Really impressive.

You can keep moving the goal post if you would like. But there is a reason DH slipped to the 45th pick in the NFL draft after breaking the all-time rushing record. He lost many millions of dollars when he had to watch Ezekiel Elliot get picked in the top 5 and receive a $16mil singing bonus and DH got $2mil. That's a $14mil dollar difference becuase the NFL is tired of seeing bama RB's flame out in the NFL. Saban is just sucking the life out of these guys. It's sad.

Next year DH will have to watch LF get picked in the top 5 and he will be sorry he ever signed with bama. Poor kid.

I'm sure.

More likely? LF already regrets signing on with LSU, and would already have a trophy at Bama and would be playing for Heisman #2.

Very impressive. I'm a big fan of Chubb and hope he comes back stronger than ever.
I just don't understand (Ok..I'm lying...it's plain old jealousy) why people try to diminish what LF has accomplished.

The only thing question I have about NC at this point is his durability. He is such a shifty rusher that I am afraid that he will be injury prone. LF is basically a runaway beer truck and with sprinters speed. His game will translate better when they both get to the NFL. Time will tell. Good luck to Nick Chubb. I'm pulling for him.

SEC

Derrick Henry 180 rypg

Fournette 133 rypg

Surely you realize that 100 more rushing attempts against SEC opponents would tend to bring the YPC down quite a bit. Congrats on the 3 inches per carry, I guess.

If florida is a push so is auburn. Henry had more yards but way more carries. I think your giving lf the bod again auburn because of the highlight reel shuck

I'm a huge LF fan.

But 19 carries for 31 yards in the biggest game of the year loses you the Heisman.

Especially when te other teams back ran for over 200.

Sorry, LF had ZERO chance after that game and it is hard to argue otherwise.

Chubb is obviously the better back using his criteria, right?

Well, I certainly don't. I think Fournette is a great running back. but....try turning your question around. Why do people diminish Henry's accomplishments? This thread was a shot at Henry. It wasn't a shot at Fournette.

Yep, and that's exactly why he chose to leave him out.

You know you're winning a debate here when people keep moving the goal post. LulZ

First, they say LF only did well against weak OOC opponents.

Then, when I posted SEC only stats they say.....uh ummm well...how about ranked conference opponents.

Then, I point out that it really doesn't matter because everybody watched Saban run him into the ground with 400 carries which caused his draft stock to plummet. Crickets.

Can you go back and tell me how many Heisman winning RB's since OJ Simpson who were not drafted in the 1st rd of the NFL draft? I'll wait.

Saban is a swag-vampire and all of those guys that fell out of the 1st rd in this past draft lost millions and millions of dollars because the NFL is tired of drafting them and finding out that they don't have anything left in the tank.

LSU fans cherry-picking stats to somehow prove LF7 > Henry while intentionally leaving Chubb out? I'm SHOCKED.
