Looks to me like that is a block below the waist. FSU players helmet is right below the shoulder pad.

No. He doesn't. Watch the play in motion. He doesn't even tough his legs.

Says the guy who said it was the definition of an illegal chop block two pages ago.

Didn't you know? The average Clemson player is built like this:

his hands are on the bottom of his legs. When I was watching this live when the run was still going on I wasn't even worried because I immediately knew it was coming back, funny how that works Posted on 8/22/17 at 10:58 am to SlowEasyConfident

Sure you did.

I owe South Carolina fans an apology. I always thought they were stretching the truth a tad. The truth is, they undersold the lunacy.

It's stupid you would even bring this up when we're discussing a gamecock booster reffing clemson games. Anyone can bring up a call in any game. We were discussing a gamecock booster and what a travesty he's a ref

^_^ Did I seriously have to post that twice because you are that blind?? You know he's discussing how the play finished, right, not the initial contact?

You do know initial contact is all that matters as long as a hold doesn't occur, right?

I wonder what narrative forms if Fl State gets blown out week one and then Clemson loses to AU.
SEC will get overhyped and ACC will be underhyped.

yes which is his shoulder that is behind the player...so...like I said..
Is it block below the waist or illegal block in the back? pick your poison....still an illegal play.

It was called an illegal block below the waist which it was clearly not.
If it was considered an illegal block in the back they should have called it correctly. They didn't.
Your team benefited from an incorrect call. I don't see why you're fighting so hard to say you didn't when it's pretty clear to everyone else.
There's no shame in admitting it.

So your debate is what was called, not whether there was an actual illegal play that would have benefited FSU? Gotcha. They called an illegal block play...only thing in debate is "below the waist" or "in the back". No ref can easily tell that in action when the body is near mid-section and a guy gets clipped off his feet and tripped up. That's what triggered the flag.
You must be one of those guys that complains about the legal pick plays while knowing Alabama used one to beat LSU in 2014, and you had no problem with it then. Funny how that works.

No. It was still a chickenshit call. fricking atrocious actually, but I'm giving you a little leeway in regards to it possibly being another penalty.

Nah.
I complained that Saban didn't tell the CBs to tackle the WRs as soon as the ball was snapped.

Whatever...so the block was debatable...replay, slow motion, it looked probably clean but the refs don't see it that slow and don't review penalties (except targeting). Besides, Boulware is clearly being held on the play and if that had been called, as it should have been, we're not even discussing this. Either way, the play comes back. FSU will get their chance this year and while I wouldn't bet $ either way on AU vs Clemson, I'd take FSU straight up without hesitation.

lol...you realize that's exactly why it became legal, right? Because they did try exactly that. Why do you think they called to run a pick play? That was the plan, and Jeff Scott knew it. Welcome to being out-coached at the end. Or did you miss your DB wrapping up Artavis Scott and throwing him to the ground? It just caused a separation of Renfrow when he cut back and didn't come straight inward to your guy with his route...oops.
You realize, if they all just straight up tackled all at the snap (no allowing routes to partially run), Watson would have had the room to run it in, right?
Who was out there to stop him? BTW, Gallman had #22 blocked...#2 and Renfrow would have been on the ground backward....open corner.

we would love to play mizzou, florida, miss st, or ole miss. and we wouldn't be 8-5. of course, we wouldn't hire gus as a coach either - so there's that
they had 4 weeks between every difficult team they played last year:
Auburn-Sept 3
Louisville-Oct 1
FSU-Oct 29
Va Tech- Dec 3
Fresh legs for:
OSU- Dec 31
UA-Jan 9
Their butts were dragging against a 5-4 Pitt, so imagine playing Ark, TN, A&M, LSU, MSU , AU and UF in an 8 week period.
