No. It wasn't.

If you believe this then you truly are a fricking idiot.

Just admit you got the benefit of a terrible fricking call. It doesn't take away the victory on the field.

not chop block, block below the waist...has to be lead from the 10:00 or 2:00 position...and that camera angle at best shows them side by side, but when the contact is initiated, it hits him in the back of the leg or the side of his waist (sure isn't in front of him between 10:00 and 2:00)...so no more front than 3:00.

Even that link's article says it is debatable and could be a correct call...lol.

No. It wasn't.

Chop blocks, which are illegal, occur when an offensive player blocks a defender below the waist as that defender is also engaged up high with another blocker.

The Safety was not engaged with another player. Learn the rules before you run off at the mouth.

He can't be older than 12. Just ignore him. He will disappear after he realizes their success is playing in the NFL now.

My mistake. The call was "illegal block below the waist", And it was the proper call. Just because Kirk Herbstreit agrees with the call doesn't make it right. And it's hilarious you brought him up because he says stupid shite every week

That was a thigh shot from his shoulder pad and a legal block. Horrible call

Might want to read the article there....it says it isn't a chop block...and that wasn't the call anyways.

The call was a block below the waist...which it is.

From the article YOU posted:
"This was a block below the waist, though. And blocks below the waist can be legal. The relevant definition of an illegal block below the waist is found in the NCAA rulebook. Basically, below-the-waist blocks are illegal downfield, but only if they come from the back or the side:

All players after the ball has left the tackle box, are allowed to block below the waist only if the force of the initial contact is directed from the front. “From the front” is understood to mean within the clock-face region between “10 o’clock and 2 o’clock” forward of the player being blocked.

Take a look at the play again. It looks borderline, but Stevenson appears to have led from the front with this block initially, striking safety Van Smith in the right thigh, while also getting a little tangled up with him on the way down"

Pssttttt...right side thigh is not 2:00

Man y'all really are some pathetic fricks, huh?

You seriously can't admit it was a fricking terrible call?

Jimbo was right. It was a chickenshit call. Clemson still won so it's not like admitting it was terrible now is going to hurt your season.

Your defense of it is pretty fricking hilarious though.

Other angles:

If this looks between 10:00 and 2:00 position to you, get your eyes checked..and note, look above...that explanation was from the article you posted...that is its exact words:

Van Smith has his back turned to the guy. It's not a bad call. The fact that jimbo melted down and cost his team another 15 makes it even more hilarious. Yep, if you hit below the waist it has to be between 10 and 2. As a guy making millions of dollars I thought jimbo would know this. I'll excuse the dumbass fans who agree with every thing Kirk herbstreit says

Yeah..but. I'm fully triggered

And that will take way too long. We could ban him just like that and he gone. Aren't there mods here that can do that? Hell, my one and only topic got nuked by somebody and I wasn't anywhere near as epic-level douche as this guy

The FSU helmet is just below the shoulder.

And side shoulder is 2:00?? Guess we need to teach you clocks.

Side is 3:00...2:00 means the contact has to come from the front corner, not from behind against the 3:00 position on the side. ^_^

Thanks for proving my point.

He hit him on the side of his body just below the number on his jersey. No part of him hit the back. There isn't a damn thing wrong with that block. It was a horrible call.....plain and simple.

The call was "blocking below the waist".

A block below the waist can't be from the side..

It also can't be below the waist if it is right below the shoulder pad.

ETA no part of the FSU players body is below the upper torso.

Interesting.

His helmet is against his arm on the side (or do you miss seeing the arm crunched inward?)...clear as day, 2 pics worth. But the first contact is his shoulder on his side thigh. Contact can only be made from the front....there is no part of his body in front of the player.

Sorry if you are finding out now what we already knew.
