that four years ago Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany was adamant that only conference champions should get into the playoff. Now his conference is the first to get a non-conference champ into the playoff.
I think what he really meant at that time was that only an SEC team that had won the SEC should be able to get in, and that no other SEC team should be allowed in.
