This thread has had a surprisingly long run for its' status as a flamer. If it were not for last season, I don't think it would have much merit.

It would have zero merit if not for last season, without a doubt.

I think Miles is a very underrated coach and I enjoyed watching his teams play when he was at OSU. LSU WILL win another SEC West Title under Miles and it will probably be as soon as this year. And, for all you Ole Miss Posters who think Nutt is such a great coach, what’s going to be your excuse when LSU bitch slaps the Rebels this year?

In fact, I think Ole Miss will not only lose to LSU but they will also lose to Bama, and Arkansas as well. And if you’re not careful you just might also lose to Vandy, Auburn or Tennessee. Ole Miss’ delusional expectations are about to come crashing down and it will be fun to watch you Nutt Huggers turn on him. Nutt’s Rah, Rah, leader-of-the-band, text message king bull shite will only take a team so far and you’ve already gone as far as you can go.

How does that make your case. I have OM going 8-4(4-4). I say yall lose to SC, Auburn, UT and LSU. Expectations are a bitch when your not use to them. OM will crumble under the pressure of expectations. A preseason top 10 ranking is the death of OM.

I agree that Les Miles is an average coach but I won't say LSU will not win another SEC Championship with him as coach. They have as much talent as any team every year so who knows maybe Les can win another with talent and good coordinators. All I know is that until they find a consistent starting QB they won't have a chance.

getting back to the 3rd and 7 play and since no one remembers if there were any time outs, there certainly should have been at least 1 in the back pocket. Playing at home in a tight ball game you better have 1 for that scenario. I don't like the play call b/c of where the ball was located on the far right side of the field which at 40+ yards is the lowest % field goal you can try. They also had a wide open tight in running a cross pattern at the 10. The problem with the play is that it's a low % play that could have been picked off or a sack allowed both of which loses you the game, unless there is that time out (sack). What if you get an offensive p.i. call which appeared to of happend anyway? then your out of fg range.

I think it was poor strategy from an overrated football coach

What has happened in Oxford that gives you the audicity to speak on anyone's coach. Especially one that has accomplished as much as Miles has in 4 years?

You are pretty arrogant, sir. You went 9-4 and won the Cotton Bowl. Does that erase your history of cellar-dwelling? I wouldn't want to imagine your fans if you guys win the SEC West or SEC Championship. Heaven-forbid you guys make it a BCS bowl or go undefeated.

Miles hasn't done anything Saban didn't do. Well except for a losing conference season.

Ole Miss went into your house, Houston nutt went in to Les MIles house 2 years in a row with lesser teams and whupped him, sir.

It's amazing he managed to lose to an Arkansas team in 08 when you consider ark had 1 guy drafted and they had 6 guys drafted. Overwhelming evidence suggests Miles will underacheive at LSU.

So i guess Saban is going to underachieve considering some of the seasons he had at LSU and some less the average teams he has lost to. Or is Nutt going to underachieve considering he did absolutely nothing with some pretty good talent arkansas.

As a casual observer of LSU's program, Miles reminds me of Fulmer in his first 9 seasons. Outstanding recruiter, excellent administrator whose teams sometimes lack discipline, on and off the field. As long as he can keep his staff hungry, he should continue to compete for championships. If he loses the drive, take a look at Knoxville over the last five years.

Are you seriously comparing UT's and LSU's off the field issues?

he won the west or tied for it 3 times with basically a running game. His defenses were never that good and that's b/c the state of arkansas does not produce good defensive highschool players compared to most other programs in the SEC.

Nutt has been the best overacheiver the best doing more with less relative to the recruiting base plus tradition plus resources divided by wins that this conference has ever had. I think he's proababaly just as good as Bear Bryant was.

I must admit that I don't follow the program enough for all of the off the field issues.

I do find it ironic that Tenn has not won the Fulmer Cup (to my knowledge).

I still see poor choices on the field which look like poor discipline at times.

In any event, Chavis may begin the slide. Be careful. I always liked Chavis but the lack of recruiting on his part is inexcusable and the scheme drove me nuts. Enjoy the Mustang package. I think LSU fans will quickly tire of holding on 1st and 2nd down only to give up third and long. Time will tell.
