I'm just pulling your chain, Duke.
However, I do find it interesting how bold and confident some have become after one successful season to start commenting about a program or school that has accomplished alot in recent memory.
I would just say be excited about your team, but don't start having conversations about "winning" when you're not used to being there. Your team had one of it's best seasons ever and you finished 2nd in the division. That doesn't sound like a very high bar. If you're trying to get a discussion going, then you accomplished that.
I guess I don't see why it would be any more difficult for Miles and LSU to win the West than any other team in the division with the level of talent (and hopefully improved coaching) that's on LSU's sidelines. Then, you contradict your original post when you say that 2010 could be the year that LSU wins it all which means they would have to win the West (unless Miles won't be the coach at that time).

That plays zero role in my ability to judge.

Well I don't know for sure. I said in the original post or somewhere near there I wasn't sure I fully believed what I posted. 2010 is the test year.

I gotcha.
I think the West will be tough on everyone once Arkansas and Auburn are back on track.
I would keep Bama and LSU at the top of the argument every year just because of the level of recruiting. However, you don't need 4 & 5-star recruits to compete/win as Utah and Boise St. has proven in recent years. Bringing in such highly rated talent sure does assure you a better chance at finishing at or near the top each season, though (if the coaching is at least average).
I'm not on the bandwagon with Ole Miss/Nutt because it was one season. I'll just stay posted because currently you are a very talented squad. Not sure where you are on depth because a few injuries can change the complexion of a season. You have Snead, but who is the backup? LSU was fortunate to have Perriloux behind Flynn when he got hurt. If LSU didn't win the SECCG, there is no BCS Championship game. Depth, at various positions, is what wins hardware because the SEC can be a punishing league. Does Ole Miss have that depth at various positions? What happens if Snead or McCluster or someone else goes down?
I think that Arkansas and Auburn will be just as much a threat in 2010 as Ole Miss. There is no Big 3 in the West as someone posted one day. Maybe in 2009, but that might not be accurate. Unless "Big 3" refers to the Big 3 Favorites in the West.

That's why I'm not posting every day how great Ole Miss will be. Our starters play in the system well enough to win the SEC West or better. Our backups don't quite have the talent. This is a massive concern.

More of a threat. Ole Miss won't be very good in 2010.

Saban was excellent against ULM two years ago wasn't he? Oh I'm sorry those were Shula's players. Saban is not responsible for losses only wins.
