Against a cupcake.

TJ Yeldon had 111 yards and a 10.1 average in his first game as a freshman. Against a ranked opponent.

Buffalo and Mizzou. I guess Mizzou has a badass defense, never heard much about Buffalo.

Wow, Aggie fans are so opportunistic with their shite talking. You realize you will likely have 3x to give a first hand opinion of this kids running ability right?

I didn't see Noil lighting the world on fire in his first game, I still think he will be a stud. He looked like an amped up freshmen just like fournette did.

Ingram/Yeldon/Gurley had great vision their first years.

Have to disagree on Ingram. He pretty much ran straight into the line where the hole was supposed to be like Fournette did Sat. night.

He improved dramatically in one off season.

It's extremely premature to make sweeping assessments, but the OP isn't actually wrong about either clip. But I suspect Fournette was doing what he was told. First game at the college level, against a major opponent, he runs the play Cam tells him to run and doesn't make waves. Once he's more comfortable at the college level, he'll be more comfortable adapting to the situation (like cutting outside.)

For people saying there was containment...no. Just no. A fast RB could cut across that space well before a linebacker 10 feet in front of him could have moved to intercept him. But, as I said, I suspect Fournette was just running the plays exactly as they were set up for him. The OL actually did fine in general on those two clips. The didn't open the gap, but they did afford Fournette the opportunity to get some space had he taken advantage of it.

You just had a very impressive win and you're worried about an 18 year old's first game for LSU?

Fournette wasn't ready. Hillard will be the man this year. Probably take Bug half the season to get into form.

Also, the Tigers better keep quite. TAMU will spank yalls slow arse.....

He's a freshman that has vastly improved at the season halfway mark. 150 yards Thanksgiving.

The dude looks stiff running the ball, not shifty at all IMO.

He definitely is not as impressive as some other 5 star RB's I've seen over the years that have started as true freshmen.
