Interesting stat - in Dan Mullen's entire career as a head coach, he never won a game in the regular season where the opponent was ranked, and his team was ranked higher. Yet somehow he got the reputation of a guy that got more out of his players.

Mullen almost never lost to teams we should beat (South Alabama being one exception) but almost never upset anyone. Turns out A&M and Auburn in 2014 probably were overhyped, rankings' wise.

some MSU fans wanting him gone are a bit... ignorant.

Ignorant is going to another message board and finding a few dimwits posting and bringing it back over here to post about it instead of addressing it there or at least linking it.

Merlin was at State for 9 years and only played 2 P5s OOC in the regular season the entire time and lost both.

Leach has been there 3 and has already played 2 and won both. He'd have already played 3 too had it not been for COVID.

Merlin's record at State is smoke and mirrors. He feasted on G5s and a very down Kentucky for most of his time there.

LSU too. I think only Auburn finished the year ranked that season
