CNB makes a good point (whether intended or not). Saying Vandy and South Carolina are better historic programs than Texas is just ridiculous, but look at that record. That record proves everything, right?

They are what they are, in many cases you can look back at them and see who was the stronger program at any given time. But again, they mean very little when talking about football today. What A&M or UT or whatever were in 1943 means nothing on what they are in 2018

Yeah? People do you jackass. Who’s won national championships in recent memory?
Its no miracle that LSU is on most SEC fan’s bucket list road trip. I’ve never heard of anyone in the SEC fired up for a road trip to CSTAT

Man... why the frick could the SEC not come to terms with Texas for them to join?!?
The Nebraska people I know would call that a blessing. Reading what Aggy, Kansas, and Missou fans say about Texas kind of confirms it. They are poison. If anything, we should go back to 12 teams or leave it alone.

Imagine Texas vs all the big name programs in the SEC. we’re talking big time games here. Nobody gets fired up for a&m.
Assuming you could get those pussies to man up and joint the SEC, Texas would immediately become a huge doormat, so you wouldn't get your wish.

Yeah. That's the point. If ancient history is relevant to the current state of affairs, Vandy and USCe are the superior programs. They clearly are not, so all-time head to head means jack fricking shite.

I was just making a joke about how we beat them the one time we played in, idk the 50s?

The whole reason I said come to terms was based on them thinking they’re the big shark. They’d have to come in and get the same treatment as the rest of the SEC. they’d be another SEC blueblood.
Too much politics involved. Too much ego for one conference. I can’t fathom Texas ego along with bama LSU Tennessee Georgia Florida egos.

But, it made the point he should have been arguing.
Would anyone on earth consider Texas a superior program to Alabama? I think Texas owns the series 7-1 or something like that. But, idiot longhorn fans will whip that out to shite-talk idiot Bama fans in a toothless GED sidewalk squabble.

because i wasnt trying to discredit the idea of talking about head to head records. i was just simply making the point that its weird for a school like auburn to laugh at us for this when they would be in the same boat as us if they played texas as many times as we have across all three of these sports

Yet, since the playing field was leveled in 1974 - scholly limits, coeds (so we didn’t have to import women from Baylor), voluntary Corps - the series is tied.
Since this is turning into the excuses thread, and the LSU guys has some strange fixation on Texas cheating, you do have to factor in that this even record is based on A&M sustained success, marred by obvious cheating.
6. Texas A&M — Seven Major Infractions: The Southwest Conference is probably the most corrupt entity in the history of college sports. Texas A&M enjoyed quite a bit of success during the 1980s, winning three consecutive conference titles under Jackie Sherrill, who Joe Paterno once lumped with Barry Switzer when bemoaning that era of college football. Sherrill resigned in 1988 after the NCAA discovered that assistant coaches and boosters were providing improper benefits to recruits — one was given a sports car and another’s father was offered medical treatment. The Aggies were given two years of probation, banned from the postseason for one season and docked 10 scholarships. Additional violations by the basketball program in 1991 and the football program again in 1994 — a booster employed and overpaid nine players who didn’t really work — almost caused A&M to suffer the same fate as SMU.

Since 2000, is you want to play with math, the series is 9-3, Texas (.750)

Atleast we know the reason behind the kicking and screaming from ATM fans when we mention them playing Daddy Texas again.
All of you would get tired of having your faces used as a taint scrubber too, so be nice to the aggots, they seek refuge.

Every school has their idiotic fans, but other than quoting stats, no Texas fans, especially on this board, has been making that argument. I think there was a thread a few months back and the prevailing attitude from all sides, including the Texas lurkers, was "wow, ironic that the overall records is that it is, given how most people view the two programs now."

I, for one, am not going to laugh at our A&M brethren.
But guys, seriously, you gotta get those numbers up.
