Really? because Sagarin ranked Oklahoma at #8 in strength of schedule and Texas A&M at #12. I mean is 8 better than 12? Yes. Is it that much better? No.
Sargin used without other data points is useless. You are also using the rankings after the first playoff games.

It would seem as if Texas A&M is a bigger rival for Texas and LSU than either ot them want to admit. LSU claims they have no rival but have been posting nonstop about A&M since they arrived in the conference. Texas fans seem to post a whole lot more about A&M than they do about Oklahoma.
I mean, take what you will from it, but from a neutral perspective it would seem Texas looks at A&M as the bigger rival....or...maybe it's just you?
Texas A&M is our in state rival which just got reignited. Most Texas fans will tell you OU is our biggest rival due to the history of the rivalry. It is one of the most iconic rivalries in college football. That being said, a lot of Longhorns have friends or families that attended A&M so it isn't completely nothing. We pick on them because its a poor athletic history.
A&M for us is like if Georgia Tech was bigger, better and in the same conference as you. You would probably still have Florida and maybe Auburn ranked in front of them, but they wouldn't be #1.

That's always been the case because there's way more interaction between Texas and Texas A&M fans than Texas and OU fans. In real life and on the internet. You quarrel with your brother way more than with your cross-town rival.
As rivals I put them about equal. Beating OU feels better than beating A&M, but losing to A&M feels worse than losing to OU. Because you never want to lose to your little brother.

Maybe, but since i used them for both teams it is apples to apples.

I don't come into contact with enough Texas or Texas A&M fans. All I have to go by is what I see on this board, and Texas (and Texas A&M) fans talk more about each other than Texas does about Oklahoma. I will give you that we hear a lot more about the big game between Texas and Oklahoma as a whole through the media and I always looked forward to that game, but that was a long time ago.
ETA
I will add that Oklahoma played #9 Alabama while A&M played #10 Miami, so the extra game would have helped Oklahoma more than A&M.

My big brother and i used to have knock down drag out fights, throwing fists, but if anybody else tried to pick on me my brother was always there to defend me, too.
