Well, I can say that I've read pretty much every Auburn board there is (aside from ITAT), and I've never come across one post saying this. However, you're naive to think Auburn would have no chance in that game against USC. No one will ever know if Auburn would've been capable of winning it.

Anyone who thinks 2010 auburn is the best ever should have no problem digesting that 2004 auburn would have beaten Southern Cal with ease.

We don't know what would have happened...but we also don't know what would have happened between USC and undefeated Utah. We can reasonably speculate that based on the body of work, the best team beat the second best team in a championship game.
