I just want to get this straight. I watched this series yesterday and thought it was very entertaining. I don't remember anything about Auburn's recruitment of JF3. Did it really go down as shown? From watching it appeared a country boy from MS beat him out to take most of the snaps for the season. Lashlee comes to one game against a team that my high school could have beat. The starter gets hurt on a dirty play. JF3 runs wild the rest of the half against some blind deaf defenders. Lashlee soils himself and offers him the next day. That is some top notch recruiting if that is how it went down. I have no idea if the kid had any meaningful snaps or any snaps while at FSU. I assume not since he left.

How did it go down? I'm sure Auburn was recruiting him prior to that game, but had not offered until after that one game. Would Auburn had offered him if the starter doesn't get hurt and JF3 only plays the snap numbers he played all season? I know we will never know, but you would think Auburn's staff would expect more quality stats from a JUCO take that wasn't injured.

I assume he will be a redshirt Junior with 2 years of eligibility left.

That's what it sounded like. They were talking about Auburn being after him well before the episode where Lashlee came to watch. I assume Auburn recruited him based on high school tape and contacts with coaches at FSU and EMCC.

During the series, the EMCC coach said over and over that he was talented enough to play anywhere if he got himself straightened out. Sometimes kids need a wakeup call and if playing backup to a D2 level QB for a season in Podunk, MS doesn't do it then probably nothing will.

I guess we'll find out in about a month.

Why would you leave any doubt when you're trying to fight to get back into top 2?

I don't think you're realizing how dominant a 48-0 halftime lead is. You have a whole second half of football left. They were well on their way to a 70-0 victory even if they took their foot off the gas. No doubt is possible.

I think you're lost....I'm not referring to a win vs. loss when I said "leave no doubt".

Let's back it up here to where I said that the national juco rankings are highly influenced by margin of victory. They needed to be in the top 2 to play for the national championship and had to make up ground.

Higher margin of victory = better chance at getting a higher rank.

Hope that helps out a bit. That wasn't the only game that they ran the score up....by far.

Nailed it.... AU based their whole evaluation on one game....

AU was aware of Franklin for awhile. Dameyune Craig had coached him at FSU & was pushing hard for us to go after him due to his skillset namely his ridiculous speed. If you noticed early on in the documentary he mentioned talking with Malzahn & that AU was recruiting him. That game was the final piece needed for him to get an offer. I am sure it was based off the athleticism he showed more than anything

Personally I was encouraged after watching it. Dude is ultra competitive & instead of shutting down after missing the starting job he kept playing & took advantage of his opportunity. If you noticed too he had know issues doing class work or going to class. He is definitely arrogant but the majority of kids at that level have that attitude. And after how meek we looked on offense at times last season I will take a kid that plays with that kind of energy.

Let's not forget Scooba Tech put up 90 on Coahoma a few years ago while still throwing the ball in the 4th.

The running up the score to keep national ranking bullshite is just that... bullshite.

Fatass Buddy is just trying to justify his douchiness.

Do they all play each other in the same league?

They are all members of the MS JUCO Athletic Association. The colleges are divided into north and south divisions. I would guess that schools play every team in their division plus a couple of teams from the other division.

North:

Northeast
Northwest
East MS
Itawamba
Coahoma
Holmes
MS Delta

South:

East Central
Jones
Hinds
Gulf Coast
Southwest
Copiah-Lincoln
Pearl River

I'm not lost. I understand how it works, they made that abundantly clear. However, there's a rather large difference between continuing to pour it on in the second half and calling timeouts at the end of the half up 48-0 when the game was already VERY hostile.

Buddy Stephens having donk rims and letting everyone pass him while riding in the left lane verifies his level 5 POS rating.

I realize Auburn had been in touch with him and recruiting him prior to the one game Lashlee went to, but would they have offered had he played few snaps in that game? Was the offer imminent no matter what happened in that game? I know nobody knows, I am just curious.

I agree that it's bullshite. But that's the way the national ranking works. One part of the show referenced them losing a couple of spots in the rankings because they didn't score enough points...and it was still a blow out.

Blame the system....not the coach that understands the system. Not a chance in hell he keeps an up tempo offense with his starters in if they used appropriate measures to rank teams.
