If Hugh had just come out and had been humble, take the L, people would have moved on. This dude is literally sitting there with a hammer and nails, some wood, a can of gasoline, and smoking a cigarette steadily building himself a hot seat. Alabama and Georgia are playing this weekend and we are talking about Hugh F’n Freeze. Talk about putting a target on yourself and I bet the boosters are loving it.
Yep

When your QB has 2nd and 4 and the play called is to handoff to the RB (1st option) yet the QB pulls the ball out and tosses an interception on the 3rd option you get pissed. When your RB’s fumble you get pissed. When you defense gets 15 yards on a needless personal foul you get pissed. His offense is not complicated. I could give other examples in the 2 losses but you would not understand.
I watched the hog receiver get behind a 2 deep safety look and literally could have called a fair catch in the endzone for a TD. I'm watching running back talent fumbling the ball in key situations. The Arkansas game was the first time I saw the barners playing with any sense of urgency this season. Unfortunately, they still lacked any proficiency at a lot of positions.

As an Auburn fan I fully support paying that to a coach that will pull in a top 10 class every year, atleast for the time being because the roster is arse.
If we don’t start winning in 2 years there’s a problem, hard to fully blame the coaches for the losses they’re taking with the shite roster they inherited for now

I'd argue that in today's modern college football, 4 years is a long time to wait for a rebuild, especially at a school like Auburn.

I would argue that Auburn needs that kind of energy. Very dumb comments but Auburn is peak when it’s hated.
Also the only thing that would legitimately put him on the hot seat would be losing recruits. That is all that separates him from Harsin but it’s a pretty wide gap

You could put any of the top transfer qbs from last cycle on this team and we are 8-4 at best. Hugh inherited a G5 roster in the SEC, it will be a slow burn. He is recruiting better at Auburn than anyone ever has.
If we struggle to make a bowl next year I’ll start to worry. That would give him 2 full recruiting cycles and 2.5 years to figure out the QB position. I still don’t expect to have a chance at being a playoff caliber team until 2026-2027

Auburn is an 8-4 or 8-5 type school year in and year out. Every 4-6 years they strike some luck and win more than 10 games, and then fall back to earth the next year. There is no sustained success, there never has been. the only time they had back to back 10 win seasons was 1988-89. They will play Alabama tough and beat them occasionally, but that's about it.
Compare that to UGA or Alabama. Bama has won at least 10 games a season since 2008. UGA has won at least 10 games a season since Kirby's second year, outside of the Covid shortened season where they still were 8-2. Even Richt's UGA teams won 10 games a year in 4 of his last 5 seasons. Auburn just isn't the same.
