Last year we had defense but the offense suffered for poor line play and running. This year it’s defense which isn’t surprising. I don’t think Lane will have the full package here. If Florida kicks in he might there.
Lane will get one more shot at a big time program. He knows if he screws it up he is done. Just not sure Florida is it. I could see him going to LSU or Bama or Georgia. Maybe even Texas. But something is screwy with Florida. I don’t think money will be what moves him.

At some altitude they’re practically indistinguishable

It's called a timeline, but I guess that's too complicated for your brain to understand.
Hm, are you sure you grasp timelines?
Saban "I will not be the coach of Alabama" = the future
[timeline continues beyond that statement into the future]
Saban is the coach of Alabama.

Yeah, you see the way it works is things...change over time. You can have an intent to do things one day and completely mean it. Then something can happen, like your wife telling you she really wants to go Alabama, and then you....get this, change your mind.
That doesn't mean the person was bullshitting previously, it doesn't mean they were lying.
If he had intended to go to Alabama he probably would have done it sooner since they were out of the playoff contention early and not being hired until Jan removed recruiting time. Instead, he refused to talk to Alabama at all until Miss Terry talked him into after the Dolphins season was over.
But hey, believe what you want and pretend like it's impossible for people to honestly change their minds.

Brohm is like Tebow to louisville while also being an established coach. Id be stunned if they could offer anything louisville couldn't match.

Spurrier seems a better comparison

Yeah he was lying, everyone but you knew it then and knows it now, and it's weird for you to do this he's not even a coach anymore lmao

What would be his reason for lying? What was the gain?

The game is to lie to your current employer and fan base until the ink dries and hundreds of coaches have done it for decades.

Like is your argument that he got surprise hired and had nothing to do with it? Totally blindsided?

Oh, is that why Alabama got burned trying to hire Rich Rod like a week into the search? Because Alabama was waiting around for a month to hire a coach?
Is that really the best you can come up with?

No, no, your "I was hired out of the blue and had no agency, just woke up and my signature was on the contract!" theory makes way more sense.

I laid out the time line earlier. He refused to even talk to Alabama at all for the entire month of December. The reason they tried to offer Rich Rod the job was because Spurrier turned us down, and we couldn't even get a confirmation that Saban would ever even talk to us.
And it was Miss Terry that actually got Saban to talk to Mal Moore. Mal Moore convinced her first, she convinced Saban to talk to him because she wanted to go to Alabama.
So again, if Saban knew he was going to Alabama the entire time, then what did have to gain by lying and staying a full extra month rather than being at Alabama recruiting?

No, that's the fantasy strawman you've created because you can't debate the points I've made in an honest manner.
In other words - you're gonna believe what you want because it makes you happy. So now I just don't take you seriously.

This is, of course, a strawman. Even if he didn't know, he said definitively that he wouldn't be.
Then he was.
This happens all the time, coaches do it every few years. It's not a mystery. Back channels are talking and negotiating.
