And I don't blame them. It's like a prized Bama recruit trolling you guys along to choose UT/LSU/Auburn at the end.

It infuriates a passionate fan base, which I am sure a Bama fan can understand.

You turn traitor, don't expect the side you turned on to say nice things.

I understand he didn't like it, but he as the traitor should shut his mouth about it.

The fact that you're winning championships and routinely getting one or more of the top ten from our state is probably some consolation.

I'm not saying I don't understand the disappointment in missing out on a player. What I don't get is those guys who make it a personal thing and attack the kid here or even stalk and attack his twitter.

Also another thing of note we're pretty lucky Saban didn't like Miami and that Mal Moore is such a great man that he could convince him to come to Alabama.

We as LSU fans can go overboard, but this kid really, really acted like a piece of shite. I mean really. Just watch some news reels.

We Alabama fans have our own crazy (see Tidefan aka TideCult), but that doesn't make it right.

At the end of the day he is another of the many prima-donna top recruits every year. His frontal lobe isn't even fully developed ( ), so I'd expect him to be immature and desire the attention.

What is unexpected is grown men stooping even lower then him by insulting him and wishing him ill the way they've had.

He represented the hopes and dreams of a fan base. I htink I would appreciate that fact.

He should keep his mouth shut about people saying DISTURBING things about him? Cussing him out, wishing injuries on him, etc? No. Those people have a problem.

Landon Collins said LSU is especially meaningful to him after they "threw me in the dirt" when he committed to Alabama.
Don't make a mockery out of the recruiting process and most of that would have been mitigated. I won't deny we have some idiotic fans, but he had a hand in how he was treated.

I'm reluctant to post in this shitshow, but has anyone ever provided a legit link to Landon trolling LSU or saying out loud he was a LSU lean or for LSU fans not to worry, etc.? Or is it all he-said-it type conjecture? I really would like to see it.

I love this thread since I've seen some comments from Alabama posters when a player picks Auburn. Could only imagine a player being #1 in state and top #3 nation wide and leaning heavy Alabama and then going Auburn on signing day. Sure the outrage would be similar as you saw from LSU fans

Our recruiting guys at 247 are some of the most well-respected recruiting guys in the country, and they said he wasn't forthright in dealing with them.

I tend to believe them but I don't have anything concrete.

Every time you post you just reinforce the idea that you really don't know anything. You may be the most ill-informed poster on this site, not because you're ignorant, but because you act like you're not.

I remember this recruitment. The signs were there that he was an Alabama lean. But he just kept stringing LSU along. But the straw that broke the camel's back was when he said on national television that he had made this decision after the 2009 championship.

If he didn't realize the lumps he had coming his way, well I'm sorry but he could have avoided this for a while.

Are you kidding me? This is such a beaten up subject when there's an obvious answer for this whole little "tweet" ordeal(which most fans could and should GAF less about)

If some five star Alabama player totally spurned the Tide for LSU, even though his parents were die hard tide fans, you all know that Bama posters would talk shite about him online. I'm not advocating people who talk shite about players simply for picking a different school(that's stupid), but why be upset when you know this will happen? It's not exclusive to the LSU fanbase. There are idiots in every fanbase in the nation and especially with schools who have a lot of football pride like those in the SEC. It was pretty immature of him to let his emotions get the best of him, but what do you expect? He's like 19 or 20

I'm talking about the Bama posters on this site.

I don't think me, Mag, Flesh, Funky, Santa, bucc, buckeye, chick, thatdude, etc would care if, say Marlon Humphrey, spurned Bama. I think Marlon could be the best CB Saban's ever had, but I bet we're probably a little bummed he chooses elsewhere, but won't be asking for his head. On Tidefans or WoollyAl? Sure, I'm sure they'll go crazy. I'm talking about this site.

I know what you're saying

All that i'm saying is that LSU and Bama fans, the radical less intelligent ones(and there are a plenty)would rag the shite out of a guy that highly ranked that spurned the home team, especially since his parents were home team diehards. You may not see many Bama fans bashing a guy on here, but on Tidesports? I'm sure.

All i'm saying is that you will always have fans who talk shite behind their usernames online about something as fickle as an 18 year old kids' college decision. It is pretty pathetic but it is what it is
