Sucks to get anal raped by the team that got anal raped by LSU and Bama, then.

Yeah losing by 16 points and having a 2 point game in the 4th quarter without our star RB, 2 key defensive players and an injury plagued O-line is the same as getting embarrassed by LSU and Bama. PS, we beat Bama the last time we played them. I'd rather beat them than the Hogs. It means more.

We finished the season as the #5 team in the nation with our only losses coming to the two teams that played for the national championship. I feel that our team last year could have competed for the SEC (and ultimately national championship) in a number of different years historically. We just unluckily had to deal with LSU and Alabama producing two of their strongest teams in the history of their respected programs in the same season.
I like your optimism and for sure if it was LSU instead of Arkansas you would get some LSU fans arguing the same kinds of things. But it wouldn't be true.
2011 Arkansas struggled at times with some bad opponents and could have very easily dropped a couple more games - and more tellingly they were also absolutely destroyed by both LSU and Alabama. For reference 2010 LSU finished 11-2 with only close losses to Auburn and Arkansas but that 2010 team wasn't really as close to being elite as their record might have made you think.
Could Arkansas 2012 improve substantially compared to Arkansas 2011 (in the same way LSU 2011 improved substantially compared to LSU 2010)? Maybe but probably not - IMO it is a lot harder to go from really good to elite than it is to go from mediocre to good.

Vandy had them on the ropes in Nashville (don't they play there? LOL) but Vandy completely gift-wrapped 14 points worth of TO's that Arkansas used to barely escape out of. Missed FG's cost the 'Dores as well.
I agree they were a good football team, but they were not on LSU & Bama's level, and had they played UGA or USC, they would've had a serious run for their money in either of those games.

obviously not close to it last year

they hosted USC and beat them comfortably - they have had their number of late.
UGA is an interesting question but I would have favored Arky over UGA heads up

Arkansas got physically man handled by LSU and BAMA last year NOT because their offense was so bad (even though it wasn’t great either against those defenses) but because their defense is weak against the run. So unless Arkansas has improved DRASTIACLLY on defense(has it?) I am not sure what would be different this year. The only thing the Hogs have going for them is playing at home so I expect the scores to be a little closer but same outcome.

In just a month, Haynes had already improved our tackling technique. Arkansas' open field tackling always was the worst part of our game. Everyone wanted to one-arm tackle or just lower their shoulder and bump them over. No one EVER set and wrapped up. Bama and LSU ran right through us because they weren't being taught good tackling fundamentals. Haynes changed that in a month. That's part of the reason our defense looked so salty in the Cotton Bowl. Our defense will be better, and our offense will be more balanced with Davis back. I'm not gonna go out and say we are world-beaters, but we will be a more sound football team than last year's squad.

What does this have to do with the success of Arkansas vs South Carolina? Classic red herring fallacy.

Everyone has injuries. Sorry, I don't feel sorry for you. We were without the best RB in the SEC last season and we still beat you by over 2 TDs with our fourth string RB at the helm. You would have also been destroyed by both Alabama and LSU last year. PLEASE try to argue with me that wouldn't have. I am looking for some entertainment while at work.

Funny how the second I mention our record we have LSU fans coming in here trying to beat their chest about how good they were last year. This has nothing to do with what we were talking about. Please save this for the other million threads that already exist.
This is about Arkansas and their success vs. South Carolina. Nothing more. Nothing less.

See what I said above. When did I ever even allude to us being on the same level as LSU and Bama last year? I simply said they were the only 2 teams that we lost to.
BTW, we DID play USC last season and beat them by over 2 TDs.

God some of you LSU fans are dense.

it was directly relevant to the quote it responded to - and I don't see how it was nasty or unfair

Ugh. This is getting so derailed now. My response was to the other poster asking where "scoring at will" got us and I told him it got us to an 11 win season and the highest end-of-season rank we've ever had in the BCS era.
For reasons beyond me this is interpreted as me trying to challenge other teams on how much better or worse they were than us.
I'm not trying to gloat here. I'm not trying to play up or play down any team. Just stating facts for the most part.
Also, your mentioning of LSU's team from 2010 struggling with a few games actually agrees with my stance that many years Arkansas could have and would have truly competed for the National Championship with the team they fielded last season. It goes without saying that Bama and LSU's teams last year were on another level than any other team or also what their average team is like, even on other national championship years.

You didn't say that. I was reiterating that as a lead in to my 2nd point. I completely forgot that you guys did well against USCe. So point taken there.

National Champion Alabama was a blocked FG away from losing to Tennessee in 2009...close games happen with top 10 teams every year. OSU lost to iowa state. We also fumbled twice inside the redzone against vandy or we would have won by 2 TDs...no one mentions that lol. Bottom line is we won. Vandy almost beat UGA too.

Back to original post: you said Knile will run over or around or whatever. If you lose him again who takes his place?
We have 5 of him that if they got 2-300 carries would get their 1500+. Whom of equal value is there behind him?
Oh and by the way, you lost all of your receivers so I guess he will catch 400 passes too, right?
Let me help you out, my disillusioned duroc friend, you have no depth.
